Seller Description:
The best way to tour any historic city is by foot. Since 1999, Washington Walks guides have been escorting visitors and locals alike through quaint neighborhoods, along hip urban thoroughfares, and past D.C.’s instantly recognizable landmarks and memorials.

Whether you’re a first-time visitor or long-time resident, the same holds true: if you haven’t been on a Washington Walk, you haven’t been to Washington, D.C.!

This tour runs each year from April to October. Please check back as April gets closer for the next available dates!

Activity Description
Please note that this walking tour will not be offered after the Labor Day weekend.  New dates will be scheduled for the 2010 walk season.  We hope you can join us then!

Come along on this three-hour nibble-and-nosh fest to DC phenomena that celebrates the locally-grown and locally-invented. We’ll stay on the move, serving up some of our favorite tales of gastronomic history along the way -- from the inaugural party turned food fight to Mrs. Terrell’s quiet milestone in civil rights.

Our territory first covers the heart of downtown, where hardly a suit in the lunch-hour crowd realizes he’s swarming in Washington’s former market neighborhood. These days think bubble tea, ginger scones and coffee roasted only a stone’s throw away.

Bring along a subway fare card, as we’ll next be hopping the Metro to catch two of DC’s most famous drop-in eateries. We’ll introduce you to an edible creation known as a half-smoke then stop in for a dessert course at the bakery/café founded by DC’s current Food Network celebrity.

Munch, sip, walk, repeat. Who’s counting calories with rhythm like that?

What Is Not Included?
* Each participant will need their own fare card to ride the Metro subway, as part of our walk. You'll need $1.35 in fare for our one hop.

* The tastings are not included in the price of the walk. You should bring up to an additional $25 cash to purchase various offerings that will be available at our stops.

Meeting Location:
Downtown, near Penn Ave & 7th St, NW (Washington, DC)
