Whether you’re a first-time visitor or long-time resident, the same holds true: if you haven’t been on a Washington Walk, you haven’t been to Washington, D.C.!

There are currently no dates scheduled for this tour. Please join us for one of our many other walking tours (April - Oct) as a great alternative!

Activity Information:     

Activity Description
The Catholic University of America is the national university of the Catholic Church in the United States. Founded and sponsored by the U.S. bishops with the approval of the Holy See, the university possesses the blessing of the Pope, but that is only one of the many features that makes it a unique place. Another is the array of impressive buildings scattered throughout the campus, including:

  • The National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception (one of the ten largest churches in the world)
  • The newly completed Mary Garden
  • A row of monastic study houses
The John Paul II Center, the new Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral, and study houses on the north edge of the campus will also be viewed.

As an extra treat, we will see James Renwick's 1850's gate house created for William Corcoran's Harewood country estate.

What Is Not Included?
This walk does not include an interior tour of any buildings.
