About The Seller:
Chef/author Shirley Fong-Torres stir-fries a delectable tour of Chinatown. The WOK WIZ is a San Francisco icon, and can be seen on national TV, as well as on BBC, CNN, NZ, German and Australian shows. She guest stars on the Food Network, Discovery, Fine Living-TV, and PBS shows, and the Rachael Ray talk show. Her Wok Wiz tours are featured in the NY Times, LA Times, Bon Appetit, Gourmet, and Cooking Light, where her tours are touted as "top attractions " in the city. In 2007, San Francisco Weekly named WOK WIZ as THE BEST CHINATOWN TOUR in San Francisco. The former English as a Second Language teacher (TX and CA) worked for Levi Strauss & Co. (Operations, Mechandising), and in 1984, found her true path in life: "to teach and entertain people while sharing my love for Chinese history and food." The author of four books and numerous food and travel articles has a goal: "for our new friends to leave us with a greater understanding of the Chinese immigrants and their contributions to American life, and with good food and memories."
