We spent a great morning in Chinatown and experienced different kinds of real Chinese kitchen. From breakfast soup to dim sum and a great lunch with crunchy pork and wonderful clams. Shirely was a great guide bursting with energy and stories about Chinatown and - of course - the dishes. The food was all very good with the lunch menu being the crowning finale.
I would like to especially recommend this tour to international visitors, who like me, may come from countries were the word of real Chinese food has only poorly been spread yet. Come and see that there is more than spring rolls! |

My husband and I scheduled this tour because we wanted an authentic Chinese experience. The food was amazing and Shirley does an awesome job ordering all different kinds of dishes and showing us various foods along the way. It was a wonderful food tour and I left very full :)
However I thought there was going to be more history involved. So if you are looking to learn the history of Chinatown take the other tour first. But if you love to eat and are only there to experience delicious food then by all means take this tour. |

We had quite an enjoyable time with Shirley. She's very knowledgeable and really knows her stuff. We tasted everything from 100 year old eggs to chinese custard. Learned about chinese teas, and ate delicious food constantly. I highly recommend this tour - it is unlike any other. |

Born in Chinatown, Frank knew everyone and everything. He answered all questions, made detours to accommodate our requests, fed us well, gave us food photography pointers and had a great sense of humor. I would enthusiastically recommend this tour to anyone with an interest in Chinese food, culture and history. |

Our tour included only two couples and our guide, Frank. The small size of the group made it much easier to discuss the food, the restaurants, and the area. Frank was knowledgable of the area and did a great job keeping us informed, entertained, and well fed. We highly recommend this food focused tour. |

We loved our tour, eating our way through Chinatown in San Francisco with Shirley Fong-Torres! She took us to the yummiest restaurants, ordered great food for us (not "scary" in any way at all), talked about the history of the area and her own very interesting family history as well. I definitely recommend this tour to anyone who loves to eat and wants to learn about Chinatown! |

If you have the opportunity to participate in the "I Can't Believe" tour, don't pass it up. Shirley leads this tour personally. You will learn things you didn't know about Chinese food, but also about San Francisco, about Chinatown, and about the Chinese experience in the U. S. |
