Dorothy did a great job giving us an overview of the history of Chinatown. She was very informative and knowledgeable. The dim sum lunch was delicious. I got a lot more out of Chinatown because of the background Dorothy provided.
Word of warning: dress warmly! You are in shady parts of the street and it can get quite cold. |

I liked the tour but would have liked to hear more information about the architecture of Chinatown buildings. I did not like the lunch very much - it was too greasy. |

We walked down alleys in China town that I know that we wouldn't have tried alone. Chuck was very well versed in local history and knowledge. Lunch was excellent. |

My wife wanted to go on this tour so I purchased the tickets for her birthday. Our tour guide (Dorothy) was really a wonderful person. She was friendly, knowledgeable and answered my constant questions. We plan to come back to do the China Town/Little Italy (Chow/Cio) tour when we have a chance. If you're looking to learn about the history of San Francisco and enjoy great food, this is highly recommended. |

My husband and I were on a weekend get-away to San Fran. I had seen Shirley Fong-Torres on a number of TV programs and was very excited about the idea of this tour of Chinatown. Making reservations was a breeze with Zerve. Our guide, Dorthy, was very friendly and well spoken. We really enjoyed hearing her personal experiences growing up in Chinatown. She was very knowledgable about the history of the area. And the Dim Sum lunch was very good. When we return to San Fran, I'd like to try another one of Wok Wiz's tours. |

Great fun! You could do it on your own, but you'd never find all the neat spots, or get the background info that you get on this tour. Up the alleys, into the shrines, and off to the markets. It was a full morning, ending with a wide variety Dim Sum lunch. We'd do it again and have already reccommended it! |

This was my first visit to San Francisco and the tour was recommended by the Concierge at my hotel. The tour not only provided a history of China town, but a vivid view of every day life in action as we walked the streets. Observing people as they went about their daily routines was fascinating. Customs and traditions abound in China town and I was in awe of the lifestyle as it evolved around me. We walked areas of a neighborhood that I may not have felt comfortable doing alone and yet I was completely comfortable with it all. Kudos to my tour guide Mrs. Quouck....she was fabulous. It would have been great to spend hours chatting with her. |

My daughter(25) who lives in SF and I,a New Yorker had Lola as our guide. It was interesting to hear and see where she grew up in Chinatown and the uniquely Chinese aspects of her life.
For those with mobility issues this is a good tour as it does not involve miles of walking and we went up one hill slowly. Enjoyed the fortune cookie shop and the Red blossom tea shop. We actually went back there and spent an unhurried 1/2 hour picking out some teas that are just what I wanted.
Lola pointed out sights and sounds that one would miss just roaming around on your own. I usually do not like orgainized tours but this is definitely the way to see Chinatown. The shops we stopped at were worth the stops.
Lunch at the dim sum restaurant was good and Lola told us what we were having and the sauces to use with each.
Definitely a worthwhile tour. |
