My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Alberta. She ensured that we got the most of our three hours together; while walking the streets and alleys of Chinatown she offered nearly a non-stop commentary on its history, culture, and food. She also shared many details of her own life to complement and enhance the experience. Highlights included the tea sampling at Red Blossom Tea Company and Alberta's suggestions on how to use many of the foods/ingredients we encountered during the tour.
I would highly recommend this tour. We spent three days in San Francisco and felt that this tour was well worth our time and stomachs! |

My husband and I were impressed with this tour. We learned so much about the Chinese culture from our guide Lola who was also very sweet. I would definitely recommend this experience. We were also impressed by Shirley's visit to the restaurant when we were having our dim sum lunch. |

This tour was the highlight of my trip to San Francisco. Lola, our guide, provided interesting information about Chinatown as she grew up there. I especially enjoyed going to the Red Blossom Tea Company where we were able to sit down and sample their delicious teas. I also enjoyed going to the Golden Fortune Cookie Company where I bought two large bags for $7.00 to take home to friends and family. Our many course meal at the Emperial Restaurant was well worth the cost (included in the tour price) and was delicious. I highly recommend this tour. |

Tour was led by Shirley herself, and she was a fount of information. We visited a tea shop, a buddhist temple, saw a parade during the Festival of Flowers, went to Portsmouth Square, heard an old barber play the erhu, and enjoyed a nice dim sum lunch at the conclusion of the tour. The tour went on despite rainfall, so if you're planning to do this one, be sure to pack an umbrella & rain gear. |

This is our second WokWiz tour in two years, but we would consider doing it yet again. The leaders of the tour are people who grew up and live in Chinatown, though they may have lived many other places as well. They are all well versed in the history of the area, but each tour leader brings a special and fascinating expertise depending on their own life experiences.
We had Chuck and Dorothy as our two guides, both knowledgeable, humorous, and personable. Each showed us a different side of similar places as they related their families' histories from the last century to the broader perspective of San Francisco's development. |

I have lived in San Francisco for nearly 40 years and I learned a lot about Chinatown that I didn't know. If you are a local , recommend it to visiting relatives or better yet take the tour with them. |

Alberta our guide was terrific. Being a native of ChinaTown she had fascinating stories to tell which made the walk or "wok" very enjoyable. Our visit to the Tea shop was very enlightening, we later went back and purchased tea. The lunch was tasty, fun to try some new foods. The time passed much too quickly but felt we had a good understanding of the area at the end of the tour. |

I thoroughly enjoyed the tour. My tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. The dim sum lunch was delicious.
We learned about the history of Chinatown and its people. I learned about the different types of foods and ingredients and when it is best to use it. Tea tasting was very informative.
I enjoyed the quaint little shops off the beaten path that we were taken too. That is what a tour is all about. I can do typical touristy stuff on my own. This tour is well worth it. I will recommend it to my family and friends. |
