Really enjoyed the tour and side bar stories of China Town and of the nightclub era of S.F. Chuck Gee was great. It was very warm the day we took tour. Lunch was good but we were expecting more of the traditional dim sum lunch that you see delivered on carts. I would definitely recommend tour to friends. Very convenient to riding BART and getting off at Montgomery St. |

The Wiz Wok tour with Chuck was very entertaining and informative. We wish we had taken the tour at the beginning of our stay in San Francisco, rather than at the end. On our own, we looked at the shops on the main streets and should have gone into the alleys and side streets, as we did with Chuck. |

The tour is a comfortable walk through Chinatown and led by knowledgeable tour guides. We had the pleasure of being in Chuck's group, and as the program said accurately "everyone loves Chuck." Our tour was informative and had personal stories and experiences from the tour guide. The meal was not overwhelming at the Imperial Palace, but the tour was enough to make the experience well worth the money. I would recommend this to anyone going to the Bay Area and even to those residents of the area who have yet to do any of the "touristy" stuff in the city. |

This is the best and only way to see Chinatown in San Francisco. The tour allows you to get a feel for what the district is like day to day. You also receive explainations about many cultural and religious traditions. Our tour guide Alberta took us to out of the way places to make sure we saw the real Chinatown. Lunch was fabulous!!! The other really nice thing was that our tour guide stayed to eat with us. She was able to explain more about the food, as well as just chatting about her life and community. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the tour or our tour guide! |

We enjoyed the tour very much. Even though I live in the East Bay there were many things about SF Chinatown I did not know. My sister from New Hampshire was very pleased also. We especially appreciated the access to the temple and the pharmacy. There was one glitch however. We were asked to inform them of any dietary restrictions in the original online questionaire. At that time I let them know that my daughter is a vegetarian. I believe that it was stated that once on the tour it would be too late to let them know. When at the restaurant my daughter was asked if she had had enough to eat and she honestly said that there was more meat than she expected. At that time we were told that we should have informed our tour guide at the beginning of the tour. Of course this is contradictory. Perhaps you can clarify this in the future. |

My Family enjoyed this very informative and tasteful tour. My teenagers were dreading the tour thinking it was going to be boring and a wasted day . This was not the case while they walked through the alleys of China town and took several pictures of the historic buildings and pictures of each other. I knew they were appreciating the ambiance of a different culture and different smells of this little town . Our tour guide was phenomenal . His energy was captivating we hung on every word. His connection to the the owner was heartwarming and very coinsidental . Like in most ethnic families in the United States who have parents that immigrated to this country the owner Shirley and our tour guide had families that coinsidentally came from nieghboring villages in China . My family is third generation American originating from Mexico and somehow the story of how all our families somehow all connect so closely was the same for our guides . It made my teens appreciate the culture and it made my mother who is very closed minded to other cultures or different foods fansinated by the culture she had just learned about . Our tour guide understood my mothers "type" and helped her along the streets of China town and asked her questions to connect with her. I can't say enough about the positive affect our tour guide made on my now open minded senior parent . The restraunt we attended was wonderful a great place to have lunch with the locals . My finicky teens actually tried all the different dishes and enjoyed each taste as the plates kept coming . I would recommend this tour to anyone that has not somehow experianced a relationship to the Chinese culture . A very nice eye opener to a rich culture who has stuggled like other cultures to survive and become a strong community in this country . I can't say enough about how much I enjoyed this tour . My advise before taking the tour is leave your hotel early to find the street and the building the tour starts from . I found one handicapp parking spot through several blocks around the vicinity of the building . Parking is limited . Nothing about the tour was bad I woud not change a thing . The walking distance is considerably close and one does not tire through the tour . My mother is a disabled senior and never stopped to take a break . I would like to thank our tour guide and Shirley for creating a wonderful experiance for people from the "outside ". This tour took the saying "ancient Chinese secret "to bed . After the tour we confidentally went on our own through the town .The store owners were very hospitable once you asked questions about the items you wanted to buy . The parishaners from the Temple actually took time out to explain how the temple originated and thier wonderful prayer methods and meanings . One of the women genourosley sat and prayed with my mother . This was a priceless moment for me my mother is a very Catholic believing women . Great tour try it you'll love it. |

We liked going to Chinatown, but the tour didn't add too much over what you could get from the Frommer Guide walking tour. I would have liked some shopping opportunities at a recommended store, too. In general the tour was unfocused. |

Bernice provided great insight into the history and cultural riches of Chinatown. All the wisdom she shared was done so enthusiastically! Additionally, Bernice took the time to take us to a tea shop after the tour because we were the only members of the group interested. We really appreciated this kind effort. |
