The history was interesting, the food was the best Cantonese we have ever had, and the guide was friendly and knowledgeable. We especially enjoyed the demonstration at the tea shop; we returned and bought some tea! The size of the group was perfect. Overall, the highlight of our first visit to San Francisco. |

Not only does the guide take you to wonderful places to explore Chinese food, but the information he shared and the people at the sites share, really enhanced the tour. Not to forget, the food was outstanding. |

Excellent tour with excellent guide (Dorothy Quouck.) Felt it to be quite interactive and extremely interesting with a great Dim Sum, family style meal to end it! I had taken this tour about 20 years ago and remembered it fondly, so I was especially thrilled that the tour is still being offered! My 24 year old son enjoyed it immensely too. We were in San Francisco for him to run his first Marathon! |

My husband and I are foodies from SC. We enjoyed Frank our tour guide. He was so full of enthusiasm for his heritage and the products of SF Chinatown. Be sure to wear good walking shoes. You will get your exercise, but the benefit is that you will be rewarded at the end with a delightful meal. Also, a highlight for us was the Chinese tea shop. The best tea I have ever had. The instructor was extremely knowledgeable. Well worth the cost of the tour. |

Great tour of CHinatown - I learned alot. Particularly appreciated the guide pointing out a place he recommended for foot massages!! (We walked almost all day the previous day and the tour is about 2 hours of walking/standing). The guide was friendly and extremely knowledgeable about Chinatown and its history, and clearly took a lot of pride in representing the area. I came away from the tour with much more than I could have gotten out of simply exploring the area on my own. The dim sum at the end of the tour was fantastic - we were stuffed! |

We thought it would be a walking tour about Chinese food, but it turned out to be much more than that.. We learned so much about the culture of China Town through the eyes of a lady who lived there as a child and as an adult. Good sampling of Chinese food at the final stop. |

This was by far one of the worst tours we've done. Our tour guide had a limited knowledge of the history of Chinatown and she lacked the skills to work with adult groups.
Don't waste your money! |

My wife and I have been to San Francisco hundreds of times and this is the first time we actually felt connected to it. Learning the history and walking through the markets and alleys of Chinatown was just too much fun to fully describe. I can't say it would have been the same if not for our tour guide Emily. She was so sweet and informative. She shared her hometown with us like we were part of her family come to visit. In fact, the tour was so personalized that she even had Jun Yu, the erhu player, play "happy birthday" to my wife. Take the tour! |

advertised as a tour from 10-12:00 (without meal) and it lasted until at least 1:00. Omit stops at friends/relatives businesses. It seemed like free advertising to promote their businesses rather than informative Chinatown info! |

We never would have gotten as much out of a visit to Chinatown without Herman and our Wok Wiz tour. We saw so many things that we likely would have walked right by, learned so very much and to end the tour with the delicious, filing lunch was great. An excellent way to be introduced to Chinatown in a morning. |

Our tour included only two couples and our guide, Frank. The small size of the group made it much easier to discuss the food, the restaurants, and the area. Frank was knowledgable of the area and did a great job keeping us informed, entertained, and well fed. We highly recommend this food focused tour. |

Great tour! Tour guide was enthusiastic & provided loads of background info on the area. At end, dim sum was wonderful ! Lunch was plenty & filling! Sxuggest you have enough to eat before the tour, as there are no snacks, etc. Until lunch.
There were a few stops that could probably have been eliminated to shorten the tour -- our tour went a little over & some of our group members were starved for the lunch. |

The tour was wonderful and very informative. I would have liked to be able to spend more time in the tea shop and had a bit more time to shop during the stops, but know we had to keep a pace. The lunch was okay, but I would have prefered to had a more unique dining experience. After seeing so many unique shops and area of China town we had a very average lunch. The food seemed kind of dumbed down for less adventurous palates. I would have booked the I can't believe I ae my way through china town if it would have been offered.
If you want great food book the tour only and ask the guide to suggest a great spot for lunch. |
