I recently attended the Wok Wiz tour by myself while my husband was at a conference in San Francisco. I learned about the tour from the Frommers guide and am glad I did it. Our group was small (9 people) and the guide was very friendly and informative. It was a great way to get an overview of the history and layout of Chinatown so I knew where I wanted to shop, eat, explore after the tour. I stayed for the lunch, which was a great way to try several different types of dim sum for just $15. Had a great time and would definitely do it again with my husband and friends! |

We have been on food tours where you graze from place to place. This was a tour of Chinatown and at the end you have Dim Sum. Interesting tour but not what we expected. |

We loved the Wok Wiz tour with Frank as our leader. Fascinating history and stories. We saw so much more of and learned so much more about Chinatown than we'd ever have seen or discovered on our own. We revisited several of the spots Frank introduced us to. Our group was only 12, which was a good size. We could all hear everything Frank had to say. Highly recommend Wok Wiz. |

Frank, a native of China Town, did a great job on our tour. Something for adults and teenagers --- we enjoyed the sights, food, tea, and even the teenagers enjoyed learning about the history of China town. We highly recommend this tour.

I cannot recommend this tour highly enough. In a trip that took me through the US and Canadian northwest, this was a standout and more than worth the money! Emily is an extraordinarily knowledgable tour guide, providing insights and vignettes into life yesterday and today, bringing Chinatown alive with colour and vibrancy. The tour included tea tasting, a visit to an apothocary, a temple and a fortune cooky factory. What is more, Emily peppered her account with her own childhood experiences of growing up in the neighbourhood. For anyone wanting to gain a deeper understanding, this tour is not to be missed! |

Emily, our tour director was great. Her memories of growing up in chinatown made the tour fantastic. |

I had a ton of fun on the "I can't believe I ate my way through Chinatown " tour. Frank, our host, was vivacious, fun and humorous and we ate SO well. I never would have tried some of the menu items - not that they were "scary" but I'd have stayed with something familiar and I loved almost everything. I particularly enjoyed the tea tasting. Great tour! |

We really enjoyed this tour, Herman was a very knowledgeable and interesting guide. He took us to various places in Chinatown that you might not check out yourself. It was a nice cultural experience topped off by a yummy dim sum lunch. |

We really enjoyed this tour. Not only was our guide knowledgeable, fun and friendly, he was able to share personal stories and tidbits that made learning the history of the area very meaningful. I enjoyed it so much that a few days later when a different friend joined me, I was able to retrace some of the route and show her a few of the sites we visited (no, not the same, but just shows you how much I enjoyed it!) The tea room was a great experience, and culminating with a nice lunch and learning about the food was just great! Thanks for a really enjoyable tour! I would highly recommend. My partner just told me today....three weeks later, how much he enjoyed the tour also. That is really a good testimony! |

We showed up on the wrong day and were thrilled that it was no problem we joined the group. The tour was informative, we thoroughly enjoyed it, and we could tell our guide had a real passion for what he did. Definitely book this tour! |

The tour is worthwhile. How worthwhile depends on the tour guide. Ours was not as good as tours led by the owner, Shirley Fong-Torres, which are are outstanding. Other guides sound good, as well. |

Very personalized to the guide we had, it was not full of detail, information, or area insights. It was a nice balance between sites to see, information about what we were seeing, and some personal history and commentary from the guide. Highlights were some longer stops at the tea store, and some attention to offbeat or out of the way places that we would not have seen or experienced on our own. If one suggestion were made, could have been a bit more organized, or benefitted from more of a historical or information context. The end of trip meal was quite good and well worth the modest cost addition (to the tour). |
