| We loved our Wok Wiz tour. We really received an insider's perspective about Chinatown -- both its history and its culture -- past and present. Chuck was a wonderful tour guide. | ||||||

| Great way to tour Chinatown! Hank, our tour guide, added that "something special". The lunch was a great way to try different foods and get to know some people in the group. Well worth it! | ||||||

| I thought time was not used well. A lot of stops for no reason. The guide was an old woman , and some of what she shared was really inteersting, but most of it had to do with China's history and not chinatown specifically. We had 2 stops at stores which were really useless ( was pure marketing for the shops - Jade and art). At the temple, no explanations were maid ( and that I thought coul be more interesting). Dim sum lunch was good but menu was really limited and I had to side order the most interesting items on the menu. It was a shallow tour and by the description on the web I assumed it would be more interesting and profound. It was also a long tour for what was covered. | ||||||

| Dorothy was a great tour guide. We enjoyed her personal stories and the off the beaten path shops and stores. We got a Chinese lesson and were introduced to many shop owners. We enjoyed going down an alley and seeing fortune cookies being made. | ||||||

| I had an informative tour, learning lots of tidbits about the history of the San Francisco area as well as the stories of Chinatown and the Chinese in America. There were a couple of things that were targeted solely towards tourists – for example, we entered a jade shop, a painting shop, and a seal-making shop, just in case people wanted to come back and buy something. I don't believe that all the information was factual; some things I suspect were said to make the tour seem more authentic. The wind and the noise on the streets often rivaled the voice of our tour guide, and the fifteen of us would crowd around her to hear what she was saying. But overall, it was an enjoyable experience, and I'd recommend it to anyone who's taking a quick look at Chinatown. | ||||||

| This was the perfect experience for me while visiting family here in San Francisco. While they were working, I kept myself busy and learned not just about Chinatown, but also San Francisco, CA and the USA! I even recommended it to my family who has recently relocated here. Definitely do it if you are not crunched for time. Not only was Dorothy informative, sweet and fun, but my group included the nicest people! | ||||||

| dorothy was well spoken and very knowledgeable. did not see everything that was listed in the tour itinerary. i.e. fortune cookie factory. did not understand why the group stopped the art framing store or the some other store that took time away from more interesting aspects of chinatown. | ||||||

| Hank was our guide and a native of Chinatown. He had all the history and inside information on the area. It was so interesting and fun. Had I just gone to Chinatown to eat or shop I would have missed the whole point of it. This was great value with lunch included and great fun I highly recommend it. Funny thing was that out of the eight of us on the tour six were locals residents we were the only "tourists" in the group. I would recommend the longer tour that includes the North Beach Area wish we had gone for more! Gets a thumbs up from us! | ||||||

| My husband and I were visiting San Francisco and wanted to see Chinatown but knew we'd have no clue of where to start. I found great reviews about the Wok Wiz tour and sounded interesting. It went above and beyond our expectations. Walking in the alleyways & streets, going into small shops, eating the food, shopping, etc. was very eye-opening. Alberta was our tour leader and what a fun, knowledgeable lady. Do not hesitate to go on this tour if you want to learn the true meaning of Chinatown. We had another couple along with us not go on the tour and they had no idea of certain things that were happening. Luckily they had us to explain it to them. Don't go walking around there lost. Take the tour! | ||||||

| We just took the Wok Wiz tour through Chinatown in San Francisco. We have lived here all our lives and have never really explored the area. Our guide, Dorothy, was very knowledgable, had answers to all our questions, spoke very clearly and was a pleasure to be around. We had the added bonus of watching a funeral procession-that was very interesting. The only thing I was a little disappointed about was that we did not see or hear too much about was the "official entrance" into Chinatown on Grant Street. I had the impression that our tour would start there and proceed into Chinatown. To me that is like going through a door into another world. I would have liked to have heard more on the history of why it is there, who built it and how the locals feel about it. Other than that, it was a nice way to spend an afternoon and learn more about the city in which I was born and raised. Thank you, now I am considering making some time to check out the Ciao, Chow tour in the near future. | ||||||
