| Shirley was very personable and fun...like having a friend show you around. I wish there was a little more focus on the history and culture of Chinatown to balance the fun, and I wish there had been more explanation of what was going on in the temple. | ||||||

| The tour was very informative. The guide took you to various locations in Chinatown and explained culture and history. Far and away the best part of the tour was the dim sum tastings. There were probably about 10 samplings, and you left feeling very full. It was all you can eat, so you really had to decide how much you wanted to eat of each dish. The only negative (and this is by no means the fault of the guide) was that on a Saturday morning in Chinatown, people were everywhere, and it was tough to keep the group together and not bump into strangers on the street. Other than that, it was well done. | ||||||

| Fascinating way to explore Chinatown. Dorothy's life experiences and research offers many interesting insights into Chinatown and its rich history. Culminating the adventure with the dim sum lunch with Dorothy and the other attendees was a grand conclusion to the tour. | ||||||

| The guide, Dorothy Quonck (I think that is her name) was superb. She was knowledgable, engaging, and responsive to the interests of the group. I can't say enough good about her. She made the tour a special experience. The meal was a disappointment. The food was ordinary and some was overcooked. You advertise as a tasting experience and it was anything but that for people who are used to good dim sum. | ||||||

| This tour was fantastic! Our tour guide Dorothy was born and raised in Chinatown, so she lived the history of the area. She showed us historical places and some wonderful business owners, including a wonderful little framing shop where we bought a very unique print made by hand by an artist in the 1970's - it was an unbelievable bargain for under $10! We would do the tour again in a minute! The lunch was good, although there was not much more than the ordinary Chinese food that Americans are familiar with. I guess they have to appeal to the least adventurous eaters who might be on the tour - we would have loved to eat some of the more unusual things that are served when locals come in! But Dorothy was a great guide, and we highly recommend the tour! | ||||||

| From the moment we were greeted by Shirley and Frank we knew we were in for a great time Even though Shirley was taking her other tour she took the time to talk to every member of our group and learn about us Frank was extremely knowledgeable (he grew up in Chinatown) and showed us places you would not find on your own. He went through the history and why Chinatown is as it is The lunch was appetising with a wide variety of dishes We highly recommend this tour Geoff and Glenda | ||||||

| Had a lot of fun on the tour! I have been to SF many times, but always felt that Chinatown was a little intimidating. This tour allowed me to be more comfortable with venturing through the wonderful shops and restaurants of Chinatown! | ||||||

| I learned so much about Chinatown on this walking tour. It was a cold and sometimes rainy day in San Francisco, but knowing there was a hot lunch at the end of it kept us all going. We really appreciated the fact that although we visited many shops along the way, there was no pressure to buy anything - we went back to the ones we liked after the tour was over. We had two eleven year old boys with us, and they were entertained during some of the slower points with digital cameras - be sure to bring one along, if you can. Word to the wise - don't be late; they start right on time!!! | ||||||

| Even if you live in San Francisco and have been to China Town many times this tour is a must. It is not only educational but lots of fun. You get to see the behind the scenes that you did not know existed. I have gone twice and will go again. I was thrilled to find the old Blums Coffee Crunch Cake made in Chinatown! | ||||||

San Francisco Adventure that Should Not be Missed!

| My husband and I have been visiting San Francisco for more than 20 years, but we have never felt a part of it like we did after visiting Chinatown with Shirley Fong-Torres on her Wok Wiz Tour! Because of Shirley our family walked the streets and alleys of that area with new eyes, appreciating the culture and the history of Chinatown like never before. Shirley has a vivacious, friendly demeanor that is so inviting and she brings the stories she tells to life. Just walking the colorful streets of Chinatown is not enough to appreciate the richness of the area, but with Shirley and Wok Wiz Tours you have a fast track ticket inside the culture that is still so vibrantly alive in Chinatown; a guide into restaurants, markets, and stores teeming with locals that takes you into their daily life and gives you a chance to eat, drink, laugh, and savor your way through a delicious morning unlike any other! From steaming jook and parades of dim sum to delicious, fragrant teas; from warm, fresh custard pastry in our hands to a table top of noodles, vegetables and main dishes, our whole family thought that this was one of our favorite parts of our trip! Thank you Shirley! | ||||||

| Herman was an exceptional spokesperson for the culture into which we became absorbed during the tour. I had a general idea about many of the things that we saw, but seeing them first-person was exciting. Especially liked the tea shop, the live produce market and the temple. This tour makes me more interested in visiting China itself. | ||||||
