| We cannot say enough about the tour. I was traveling with someone who needed some special care on the walking portion and the guide was very sympathetic and made every effort to see that my companion was able get enough rest while walking those SF hills! The guide grew up in Chinatown and her insights were amazing. The food at the lunch was quite good, as well. Thanks, thanks, thanks!!!!! | ||||||

| The best part of the tour was hearing our guide tell of growing up in Chinatown and sharing lunch with the group at the end of the tour. Being a local I was hoping for more historical and cultural information. Other than the visit to the temple I didn't learn much. This tour has the potential to be a real learning experience but sadly missed the mark. This tour might be of value to a tourist who has had absolutely no exposure to Chinese cuisine or culture but for a local there really is not much to recommend. | ||||||

| Lola our tour guide was knowledgeable, interesting, and provided good insights into Chinatown's history and current state. Lola handled the variety of ages and interests of the group very well, so it was enjoyable for all of us.She had great artifacts - I loved the 1942 telephone directory. I wish we had had more time at the tea shop. The young lady who gave the demonstration was an expert in Chinese tea and we learned a lot from her - even in our abreviated visit. My only disappointment was lunch - given the quality of the food I've experienced in Chinatown over the years I thought the tour had "cheaped out" on the food. Lots of rice and noodles, indifferent egg rolls, and little protein. Not my favorite. | ||||||

| Guide was an 80 year old male with much info on history of Chinatown and San Francisco. He was energetic & enthusiastic. 3 hours seemed a little lengthy and drawn-out. Lunch was mediocre and seemed typical of any Chinese dinner I have ever had. Maybe this was the intention. All of those around us were ethnic and seemed to be enjoying themselves. Best of all was the tea room and the lovely, young person who educated us on the different teas. We also enjoyed seeing the art in the alley studio. Would have liked a small map of the area so we could find our way back to some of the shops. I had not been in Chinatown since living in SF in the 1940's so it was great to finally return and have such a venerable host. | ||||||

| Having been to eat in San Francisco's Chinatown many times over the last 30 years, I did not expect to learn much. Boy was I surpristed. Chuck was an exceptional guide. We covered the history of San Francisco and of its Chinatown, the religions of China, the colors that Chinese enjoy, the kinds of vegetables for sale in the market, and an excellent demonstration of preparation and kinds of tea. Overall, it was both fun and informative. Thanks Chuck. | ||||||

| This was a wonderful tour, especially if you have never been to a Chinatown and have no idea what to look for. The guide takes you on a stroll around a few blocks of Chinatown. He describes the history of the area as well as points out the best places to shop. Along the way, he also takes you to a small temple, a tea shop for some samples, and tops it all with a huge full course lunch. I highly recommend paying the little bit extra to have the lunch with your Chinatown tour. You get so much food. You will not leave hungry and can take leftovers with you. The guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. You see some of the important sites in Chinatown, including Waverly Place which inspired "The Joy Luck Club," Chinatown's original redlight district, and meet a barber who was featured in a major Will Smith movie as he sits outside and plays a traditional Chinese violin type instrument. You may have the opportunity to meet Shirley Fong Torres. She is darling, very personable, and has a wonderful story to tell about her family's life. | ||||||

| Lulu was a great tour guide. Having grown up in Chinatown as a first generation American, I enjoyed her insights into Chinatown. She took us through local market areas, into a temple and a tea shop, and up and down alleys while giving us cultural and historical insight into the area. The walk ended with a really good dim sum lunch. It was a great tour of Chinatown and gave me confidence to do some exploring by myself. | ||||||

| We each loved the tour guide and her personal experiences in ChinaTown that she was able to incorporate into our tour. The walk was the best way to see the sights, sounds and smells. It was great and we would definitely recommend the tour to others as it had been recommended to us. Thank you for a great day in ChinaTown. | ||||||
