| Yes, we had the wonderful Dorothy as our tour guide and she was a charming and very knowledgeable lady. I learned so much about the Chinese culture and she held my interest for so long that the tour seemed to fly by. I would recommend this tour to everyone and the icing on the cake was the delicious luncheon. Thank you, Dorothy and may God bless you. | ||||||

| my wife and i were visiting sf from florida and signed up for the tour after finding it recommended in a guidebook. our particular guide, dorothy, was 73 years old and had been born in chinatown. she was particularly pleasant, energetic, articulate and knowledgeable with many personal insights into chinatown's history and culture. the lunch following the tour was outstanding. very highly recommended. | ||||||

| One of the absolute BEST things we did while in San Francisco was join Alberta on her Wok Wiz tour of China Town! The pace was great...the views were unique...our host (Alberta) was funny, insightful, informative, and polite. We had previously been to many other "China towns" (Vancouver, Victoria, Montreal, Chicago, etc.) and have always wished someone could explain customs, the unique foods, and so much more. In San Francisco we got exactly that! This is a tour well worth the time and the money (and, definitely, DON'T skip the dim sum lunch!!!). | ||||||

| I am a local and had often heard of this tour. It was fun, historically interesting with great information about food and special places. I particularly loved the Taoist Temple and the tea shop. I went back to both after the tour. Even though I have spent 45 years wandering around Chinatown, I knew only my favorite spots. Now I have a much longer list of favorite spots and a deepened appreciation for the community. | ||||||

| Lola provided a top notch tour for our small intimate group. She personalized the history of this special place by sharing her own life experiences along with the history of the area. We felt like we had an opportunity to sneak inside and get a first hand view of Chinatown. Sharing a meal with the group was a perfect ending. Highly recommended! | ||||||

| Our guide was very personable and tried hard to keep all of us happy. We learned about many chinese customs, past and present. We loved the visit to the tea shop where we learned the proper way to brew tea, and got to sample several different types. The fortune cookie factory was fun. They are so tasty! I will carry my good luck necklace from the temple with me when interviewing for a new job! The lunch was good, and very filling. I tried several things I probably would never have tried on my own. We had a good time. I recommend this tour. | ||||||

| We are a group of friends who enjoy traveling and who enjoy learning about new places. We all felt that our "tourist dollar" had been well spent with this tour. Having a guide who grew up in Chinatown was terrific. The personal memories that she shared made the history of San Francisco and Chinatown come to life for us. She was alert to the needs of the group and was attentive to our requests and questions. The visit to the tea shop and to the temple were particular favorites for us. | ||||||

| This tour was a great introduction to Chinatown! The tour guide was a native Chinatown resident. She shared interesting stories of her childhood life in Chinatown that were sometimes funny, sometimes serious, and always interesting. The tour was an easy walk with many stops in the non-tourist areas and the dim sum lunch at the end was delicious and filling. | ||||||

| I thought this was going to be a "food tour". Instead, it was a very interesting tour of Chinatown, with a delicious lunch at the end. Not bad - but not what I was expecting. I was expecting multiple eating stops. | ||||||

| This tour was so much more than a walking tour. Our tour guide Dorothy brought Chinatown past and present to life with her insightful commentary and familiarity with local businesses. I also loved that she taught us Chinese phrases and made us practice on local shopkeepers. Last but not least, the lunch was delicious! | ||||||

| Alberta was our tour leader and she was great. I haven't stopped talking about this tour since I have been home. The tour was truly unique and unlike anything I have ever done before. Alberta was terrific, she had a relationship with all of the shops and was very clear with us about what the agenda was going to be and how it was going to work. I highly recommend this tour. | ||||||

| This tour was a lot of fun, and we learned a lot too. it was well organized, and the leisurely pace was perfect. Our guide was well informed, friendly, and enthusiastic. It was also easy to hear her. We plan on taking other freinds on this tour when they come out here for vacation. | ||||||

good historical tour of Chinatown and dim sum

| Our guide Lola was animated and knowledgeable. "Saving" the tea demo until right before the dim sum lunch was not the best order. The temple stop seemed a bit contrived; not the major Buddhist Temple in Chinatown. Lunch was good, but a bit pricey at $12 over the tour price alone. Guide pointed out many great restaurants in the area. Susan | ||||||
