| Wonderful tour of China Town. You learn a great deal of the history and visit several shops on the tour. Afterwards you can spend time shopping at the recommended stores. Our granchildren (8 & 10) were not so enthusiastic of the lunch. A bit too authentic for them, but enjoyed by all the adults. | ||||||

| My fellow retirees and I really enjoyed this tour. We learned a lot about the Chinese Immigrants living in Chinatown.....their customs, traditions, culture, and cuisine. Our guide was very knowledgeable and brought us to some of the best places in Chinatown. We loved the tea shop and came home with lots of tea! Lunch was very good.....nice variety and plenty of food. This tour was not only fun but a good value for your tourist dollar! | ||||||

| The tour was a highlight of our trip to San Francisco. I had always been fascinated by the mystique of Chinatown, and this tour provided more insight into the local culture than I ever could have gleened alone. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable. It was like we were being shown around the neighborhood by a good friend. The only thing I would have done differently is to take the tour at the beginning of my trip instead of at the end, when I didn't have enough time to explore Chinatown more on my own. It would have been nice to venture out on my own to explore the neighborhood armed with all of the new insights I had gained on the tour. | ||||||

| Shirley Fong-Torres is a delight! Charming, warm, and full of enthusiasm and energy about her hometown: "Chinatown." However, on the day my friend and I took her tour, both of the restaurants she had planned to take us to, for breakfast and for lunch, were closed, and we spent an undue amount of time roaming around looking for another place to have some jook. Luckily, I had a piece of hard candy in my purse or else my blood sugar would have crashed. The places where we ended up having our two meals were both undistinguished in their cuisine and none of the dishes were very different from what I would normally order at a Chinese restaurant. That said, the rest of the tour's highlights were wonderful. From the musician/barber in the alley to the fabulous tea shop where we learned to "rinse" our tea leaves to the amazing Dim Sum shop where we had truly spectacular items, nothing was lacking. The only thing we would have enjoyed having more of would have been a little more history/background information from Shirley herself about the culture and locale. Again, lots of fun with friendly companions. | ||||||

| My husband and I had a fun and interesting time, and the tour guide did a great job, but we would only recommend it to others only with this disclaimer : If you go, be prepared for a really filthy restaurant. We already know from past trips to Chinatown that it is not a squeaky clean place, but it seems to us that we should have been taken to a clean restaurant. It would not have had to be fancy in any way. Although the tickets might have cost more, we would have been more than willing to pay the difference. We would have done this tour many times in the future with different tour guides, but not with restaurants like this. Perhaps you could offer two grades of tickets: #1 - Chinatown on the Cheap #2 - Chinatown with a better grade restaurant. We live in a retirement village with 4000 people, and we would have brought back many groups if the tour had been held to a higher standard. Also, the other participants in our tour were all from other States. It is sad and embarrassing as a local resident that these people must leave Chinatown disgusted with the restaurant, as many of them mentioned to us. It will really affect their memory of the tour. | ||||||

| Having lived near the Bay Area for over 30 years, I have been to Chinatown in San Francisco many times. Taking the Wok Wiz tour was the most fun I have ever had there. I loved learning about the buildings and the many businesses that have come and gone. My favorite part of the tour was the Red Blossom Tea Company. Alice Luong was warm and friendly and eager to share her knowledge and interest. Understanding good tea is like understanding good wine. Apparently, most of us have been drinking the bargain basement stuff for years without knowing. We ended with lunch at the former Golden Dragon which was great food and great company. I would highly recommend the tour for anyone who wants a better understanding of San Francisco history and the rich contributions made there by the Chinese. | ||||||

| We loved our Wok Wiz tour. We really received an insider's perspective about Chinatown -- both its history and its culture -- past and present. Chuck was a wonderful tour guide. | ||||||

| Great way to tour Chinatown! Hank, our tour guide, added that "something special". The lunch was a great way to try different foods and get to know some people in the group. Well worth it! | ||||||

| I thought time was not used well. A lot of stops for no reason. The guide was an old woman , and some of what she shared was really inteersting, but most of it had to do with China's history and not chinatown specifically. We had 2 stops at stores which were really useless ( was pure marketing for the shops - Jade and art). At the temple, no explanations were maid ( and that I thought coul be more interesting). Dim sum lunch was good but menu was really limited and I had to side order the most interesting items on the menu. It was a shallow tour and by the description on the web I assumed it would be more interesting and profound. It was also a long tour for what was covered. | ||||||
