Very nice informative and delicious tour!

We just loved our Guide who had grown up in Chinatown and whose father owned a poultry business there. He covered a lot of interesting topics and was able to answer everyones questions. Great Tour, loved the tea demonstration and the food selections were fabulous. Really enjoyed the Ma Tsu Temple. Thank for a great time.

For inside information you can't possibly know about Chinatown. Our guide was very knowledgeable and having been born there gave us tidbits of his life that made us feel what it was really like.

Tour interesting but overpriced.

The tour guide was this charming older Chinese/American lady with wonderful personal stories and a personal connection to Chinatown. The walk in the square and the streets was easy with good commentary. The problem was with the shops visited. They were quite empty of people and it seemed obvious to me that we were taken there for encouragement to return to shop by some prearrangement. The produce market was very disappointing. Old, wilted produce, and absolutely no customers. The lunch was excellent with many choices and we weren't hurried. I have been on similar tours and felt this wasn't as good.

This tour was great. Very interesting with a lot of detail on the history of not just chinatown but of San Francisco in general. And the food was fantastic. The best Chinese food I've ever ate. I highly recommend this tour.

Interesting & Great Lunch

You can't beat this tour if you want to learn a little history of San Francisco and Chinatown. The tour leader was great - a real pro as she kept reminding the tall guys to stand in the back so short people could see and hear her. She directed us to a number of local businesses while walking through although we didn't have time during the tour to shop. The lunch was excellent with plenty of food for all. (egg rolls, potstickers, steamed buns, pork dim sum, chow fun & steamed bock choy)

Tour moved a little slowly.

Dorothy was delightful. Perhaps there was too much detail at times that caused the tour to move slowly.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this tour. The guide was wonderful, the stops we made along the way were interesting--tea shop, fortune cookie factory, meeting spot for locals, shops and produce markets to name a few. We concluded the tour with a delicious dim sum lunch where we sampled many delicious foods. You will not leave this tour hungry!!!!!!

this is the second time I have done the tour - saw a few new things this time around - the tea tasting was much better this time than the last - really enjoyed it - I think I could be a tour guide thru Chinatown now.

We really enjoyed Alberta and her view on Chinatown. The stop at the tea shop and the fortune cookie factory were a hit.

Not a very informative tour......

The guide was very friendly and professional, however seemed to lack either the knowledge and/or the attention to properly give an in depth look into Chinatown.

Chinatown in a whole new light

I've been to various chinatowns throughout the nation, walking the streets, eating the food, and purchasing random items. This wonderful tour and our lovely guide provided a new look into the a chinatown I've visited many times. This tour gives individuals a unique perspective and insite into everything chinatown has to offer from an individual who actually lived in the town, knows the locals and the inside scoop on all the details big and small. This tour was a real treat!

walking in the rain!

Our walk was done in the rain.....at times pouring down......but that did not stop the enthusiasm of our guide or our group. Alberta was knowlegeable and fun. The path of the walk is great....I would recommend the tour to everyone. We finished the walk with a delicious lunch. How great is that?

Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable.

Hank was wonderful and extremely knowledgeable about Chinatown where his parents worked and he grew up as a child. He had a lot of stories, factual and personal, to share with our group. I would highly recommend taking the tour to find out information about the area that you would totally miss if you were on your own.

Entertaining inside look at Chinatown

This tour provides an easy, entertaining look into Chinatown. Although I have visited Chinatown a few times before, I learned so much more from this tour than from going on my own. It was wonderful to get an inside view of many establishments in the area. I especially enjoyed the "back alley" areas. The guide was informative and entertaining. The experience was well worth the price!

My husband and I just got back from our honeymoon in San Francisco, and this tour was the first thing on our agenda. We were so glad to have done this on our first day -- our guide, Alberta, got us well acquainted with Chinatown and gave us several wonderful dining and shopping recommendations that we used throughout the trip. I'd recommend this tour to anyone! Do the lunch; it's wonderful food and a good chance to talk to your guide and fellow tour mates while eating fabulous dim sum. By the end of our trip, Chinatown felt like our little home away from home. Thanks, Alberta!
