| Our Guide Alberta was excellent. She had total local knowledge both contemporary and historical. I've been to Chinatown several times before but this was completely new. We weren't encouraged or pushed to buy at the places we visited but we bought at every stop. Excellent bargains of things we wanted and will use. The tea demonstration was the highlight. Brilliant speaker and excellent tea. Well done WokWiz | ||||||

| There's simply no better way to get a comprehensive view of life in Chinatown - both past and present. The guide offered her personal insights about Chinese culture from a lifetime spent living in Chinatown, and was able to present it in such a delightful way. All sites visited were very interesting and would not have been noted by a self-guided tour. | ||||||

| We did the Wok Wiz tour and had a great time. Bernice, our guide, was a very interesting person. She took us into a herb store, into a pharmacy where we could see how all the fresh herbs/medicine were measured out for prescriptions. Pictures were allowed almost everywhere we went. We were able to go into the Fortune Cookie factory and watch how they make and form fortune cookies. Very interesting ! We went into a temple and the traditions/practices were described in detail. It's worth the 3 flights of stairs up to the temple !! Our guide talked about her life since she has lived in Chinatown all her life. We had a wonderful 6 or 7 course lunch and she described each course as we were eating it. After lunch, we had the option of going with her to the Red Blossom Tea Company and sample different kinds of tea. It was a very interesting and informative tour. Bernice did an excellent job. I would say it is a tour you would not want to miss. It is worth the time and the money. | ||||||

| The tour is well-thought out, the guide was knowledgeable and helpful. We doubt that we would have found all the little places he showed us on our own. I would recommend the tour again without reservations. We are foodies and could not pass up the opportunity to eat traditional Chinese food, so we paid extra for that. The quality of food was really really lousy, the service left a lot to be desired. I believe that you could have had a much better food experience by walking into any small restaurant in Chinatown where locals go. Please do yourself a favor and do not pay nor go for the food portion of the tour. | ||||||

| Our guide, Alberta, was delightful: Strong, humorous, and lively! We appreciated the fun of the tour, but also the deeper understanding of life in Chinatown that it gave us. Thank you! The Bundys Long Beach, CA | ||||||

| This was a good activity to do while my son was working. The lunch was outstanding! I even met another lady who was on the tour while her husband was attending business and we went to Fisherman's Wharf together after we finished doing a little shopping in Chinatown. | ||||||

| I would highly recommend this tour if you plan to spend some time in Chinatown. Our tour guide Alberta grew up in this area so she was very knowledgeable of the area and had a great sense of humor as well. The walking tour was very comfortable and not tiring at all. The dim sum lunch at the end was very delicious as well. We returned to the Chinatown area a day after our tour and because of the tour the previous day, I knew exactly where to go (on what street, etc.) to find the things that I was looking for. | ||||||

Experience through culture

| I enjoyed experiencing the culture of Chinatown. It came alive through our guide. It made the experience of Chinatown human and not just buildings and crowds. I enjoyed learning customs both old and still evolving. My only disappointment was the meal at the end. I would have liked to have understood more about the carts and maybe have been able to choose some of the selections. There seemed to be some confusion about our arrival and again we were in a back corner. I would have liked to have been where I could have seen more of what was going on and what people were choosing. Alberta did a wonderful job of explaining the real Chinatown, it's people. | ||||||

| So much history would have been missed without our knowledgeable tour guide to take the time to stop and explain every nuance of Chinatown. Around every corner was a story from her past and her views of the future. Visiting the Temple, the markets, the tea shops and the Pharmacy were truely enlightening and gave you a sense of how the community copes with everyday life. Lunch was very good. Tried new things recommended by our host, she also gave the history about the food we ate. Would do this tour again and highly recommend it to others who are going to San Francisco for a visit. | ||||||

| Our guide, Bernice, provided a great insiders tour of San Francisco's historic Chinatown. Her personal knowledge and pleasant demeanor made the tour a special part of our visit to San Francisco. And the Dim Sum lunch was the best Chinese food I've ever had!! | ||||||

| We had a wonderful time on the tour. Our tour guide, Alberta, was born and raised in Chinatown so she not only knew the area and its history but also was able to share personal stories that made the tour more meaningful. She also had a good sense of humor and was able to engage all of us, including my two grade-school aged kids. In three hours, we got a very thorough overview of the area, with recommendations of which stores to shop in later, a tour of a Taoist temple, a forturne cookie factory and a tea tasting. We loved going through the busy produce and butcher markets on Stockton Street with our guide. She explained what everything was and how it is used. We enjoyed the lunch but would have preferred a more traditional Dim Sum experience instead of a preset menu that was not all dumplings. We felt so comfortable and connected to Chinatown after our tour that we went back the next morning to buy produce!! | ||||||
