Great tour of Chinatown

| Dorothy was our guide and was able to personalize the tour by describing personal experiences that she had growing up in Chinatown. We especially liked the visit to the herbal store and how that plays an intricate part in preventative medicine. The discussion on the telephone exchange and how calls were connected also was fascinating. Our 2 daughters went with us. They were on spring break from college and had always avoided eating Chinese food. They actually enjoyed the dim sum lunch that concluded our tour. We would highly recommend this tour and will look forward to taking it again, the next time we go to San Francisco. | ||||||

| I so enjoyed my tour of Chinatown with Shirley. She is delightful and so knowledgeable. It was one of the highlights of my trip. I ate at places I would never have known about without Shirley. I had a wonderful time with her and would go again in a minute. Well worth it!!! | ||||||

| Just a few steps into the park in San Francisco's Chinatown and you feel as though you have been transported to China. It is an excellent introduction to the culture for those unfamilliar with it. | ||||||

| Dorothy provided a personal tour of Chinatown. Even though she has done this many times, she made us feel as if we were special friends she was sharing this information with. She has a real storyteller's flair. We learned about history, culture, & etiquette of the place. We especially enjoyed the herbal shop and the history of Chinatown. | ||||||

| What a wonderful tour! The amount of history and culture experienced on this trip was more than I ever could have imagined. This is a must for anyone visiting San Francisco for the first time or those who have been time and time again. | ||||||

| This tour was a lot of fun. I learned a lot of things that I had never imagined. Chinatown is really a beautiful part of San Francisco. Our tour guide, Dorothy, was so knowledgable and had so many interesting stories. She was so enthusiastic and it was so much fun listening to her. | ||||||

| This tour was wonderful. Chuck was fantastic!! I recommend this tour to anyone who would like to know more about Chinatown. Chuck took us to historical sites, interesting places, explained why people were doing what they were doing, took us to shops, taught us about food and culture, and reminisced about his childhood in Chinatown, giving us first hand insight on what it is like for the residents there. I was so blessed to be a part of this tour. I can't wait to take my kids back to Chinatown and show them all of the great things I learned. It really makes me see Chinatown differently. I went on the tour because I had to. I was writing a paper on Chinatown for my anthropology class. But I am so glad I did. I would go again in a minute. The paper was so easy to write because of all the great information I was given and the knowledge that I took away with me. Thank you Thank you Thank you for the wonderful opportunity and tour. | ||||||

| We were a group of friends - two hetero couples, one from Mill Valley + one from Amherst Massachussets. We loved the tour + loved our leader. However, the dim sum lunch at Four Seas was disappointing. I have had much more interesting and exciting food at dim sum elsewhere. Please consider changing the lunch location. | ||||||

| This was a truly great experience. It was interesting, educational and the food was wonderful!! I have always been curious about the different restaurants in Chinatown and where to eat---this tour will take you to some fabulous places that one would probably never know to go to unless they are a local. Aside from the great food and interesting experience, Shirley Fong Torres is truly delightful with a great sense of humor. I plan on going on this tour again! I would recommend it to anyone. | ||||||

| To explain my entry under "YOUR GROUP", we are from Merced, CA and it was me and my son. Since he's over 21 I didn't think "family with children" was quite right. We had a wonderful time! The tour was outstanding! I highly recommend the Wok Wiz tour to anyone interested in learing about the history of China Town in San Francisco. Our guide, Judy Won, was more than outstanding! She was very knowledgeable of the history of China Town. We enjoyed so much listening to her talk about the many interesting things that China Town has to offer. In addition I noticed that she seemed to make it a point to spend a few minutes with every person in our group. While we were walking from place to place, sometimes she would be with one person while other times she was with someone else. And of course she spent some time talking with me and my son. That to me is a real plus as she seemed to really care about each person in the group. I've been on tours where the guide seems to spend the whole time with one or two people, but Judy Won made sure she spent some time with each of us. That tells me she is really interested in people and making their tour something special. Shirley Fong-Torres has put together a really enjoyable tour! I'm sure we will one day return for the "I Can't Believe I Ate My Way Through China Town!" tour. But only if I can say, "No thanks!" to some of those really far out dishes! | Our tour was guided by Dorothy. Having been born and raised in Chinatown she brought a very unique perspective to the tour. She has a great energy. We were hoping to have more of a culinary component to the tour. Most disappointing, the dim sum at the end of the tour was mediocre. I had hoped that the lunch would be at a place that seemed to be geared toward the locals, but it seemed to be more of a tourist trap. | ||||||

| Did enjoy the facts of area history. Did not enjoy the lunch served---was expecting better. Our older children (16 and 14) and ourselves were grouped with other families with smaller children. We would have been better off in an older group. | ||||||
