Great experience...Dorothy, having been born in Chinatown 77 years ago, provided great insight not only to Chinatown, but the culture and settlement in CA as well. Jane and I both loved it. |

She is wonderful! Her knowledge is unlimited, her manner engaging, it was one of the best tours we have ever done! She opened new doors of understanding for us, including insightful historical knowledge, tea tasting, and where the best restaurants are (she was right on the money!) Thanks!

Our tour guide, Dorothy Quock, was wonderful. It doesn't get much better than having a tour guide who was born in Chinatown. She was informative, funny, and very personal. We had seven in our group and she quickly learned our names and something about each one. I would have liked to have gone to an actual outdoor market and visited clothing shops rather than gift and frameshops. This would have provided a more authentic view of Chinatown. Visits to a tea shop and pharmacy, however, were interesting. And the lunch at the Four Seasons was excellent. Overall, an entertaining tour. |

I heard far more about the guide than I needed. Also didn't need to be taken into an art store where, I assume, the purpose was to have us buy things. Guide also need to watch the sexism in his comments ("I tell the women about the fabric store and the men about the bar") With a decent guidebook and a good map, could have done this on my own. Left at the half=way point...figured life was too short. |

He went out of his way to describe the history of China Town, showed us how to locate & navigate through the many stores, resturants & businesses not seen from the streets to a passer-by! He even gave us a tour of the area he was raised in & places he use to frequent!
The tour was topped off with a very delicious lunch at one of the many resturants in the area.
We would definately recomment, & we will take the tour again upon our return!

I would have been lost without the guidance of Emily. She was fantastic, very personable, and knowledgable about the entire area. She made the tour fun and I would reccommend this tour to anybody. |

A really interesting and informative tour of Chinatown by a very friendly local guide who grew up in the area.
The tour was concluded by a delicious meal and I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting
San Francisco. |

This is a very good tour to get acquainted with the workings and history of china town which could be used to make a more in depth tour of the area. |

Dorothy led our group through Chinatown- we learned so much from her. She was born in Chinatown and really knew its history. She answered our questions in full and encouraged us to ask more.
Worth every cent- the best tour we have taken. The tea shop was also very interesting- the red haired rep gave a very full explanation of tea and how to brew it. Please take this tour- and ask for Dorothy |

The Wok Wiz public tour provides a great overview and history of Chinatown. They are sure to include history, culture, and cuisine in a well-rounded, easy-paced tour. There are multiple tour guides, but they all seem to share a passion for educating tourists. If your tour guide is Dorothy, be prepared to experience her enthusiasm, as she shares her personal history growing up locally. While a 3 hour tour may not seem like enough time to get to know the neighborhood, by the time you are finished with lunch, you are ready to head back out into the streets with a new confidence, revisiting shops that were recommended along the way. It is a good tour for someone looking to 'do Chinatown in one day.' My only regret was that the food tour of Chinatown was not available while I visited, as it is said to be a great way to see the area also. |

This was a great tour providing historical insight and views of modern Chinatown. I have been to San Francisco's Chinatown before and didn't know that some of the things I saw existed. My Dad is a photographer and the guide let him know which places were comfortable with pictures, which weren't, etc. The group was fairly small which was nice. You didn't feel like a tourist on the tour. |
