Adventure Cat Sailing Charters

I bought tickets online for a 3pm Sunday Adventure Cat sail, but got stuck in traffic and arrived late. Rescheduling for 6pm was easy. It just took a quick phone call and an additional $15 per person to upgrade from the normal sail to the "Sunset Cruise" which includes 2 drinks per person and snacks on board that aren't included in the normal sail's price. Despite missing our scheduled departure time, we made the best of it by watching the Sea Lions and shopping at Pier 39 while waiting for the 6pm cruise. We originally wanted to go at 3pm to avoid the famed San Francisco Summer fog, however by the time our 6pm sail set off, the fog had returned and it was quite cold and windy. One nice thing about sailing on a catamaran instead of a monohull boat is that the cat doesn't heel over. This was definitely a good choice for my new-to-sailing date. When we left the dock I was concerned it would be too cold and visually dull in the fog, however by the time we reached Alcatraz the fog and clouds were replaced for a while by clear sky and warm sun. Everyone came out of the cabin with their drinks on deck and it was quite comfortable. Beware the downwind bow rail as you're likely to get wet (as we did) from the spray if you stand there. The views of Alcatraz and especially the Golden Gate Bridge are fantastic from aboard the Adventure Cat. All in all, it was an fun, romantic trip I recommend to anyone wanting to see San Francisco from the water without the noise and smell of a motorboat.

Taking a catamaran through the bay was a unique way to experience San Francisco. Seeing the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz by boat allows you to really take in the enormity of what you are seeing. It was a great excursion!

Sailing was a BLAST! would recommend to anyone I know! It was a ton of fun to able to be out on the front of the boat.. The day was a bit foggy, but nobody could help that! Overall an awesome experience and I would definitely do it again!

Our trip was the Sunset Cruise at 6 pm on a Friday. The weather was a little foggy when we took off, then it was sunny and beautiful after 45 minutes or so. When we got to the Golden Gate Bridge it was veerrry foggy and you couldn't see very far ahead. The fog gave the bridge an eerie feeling, but this was very cool to see from under the bridge. The hors dvours were plentiful and so were the drinks! I highly recommend this trip to anyone who wants a different experience rather than a big touristy impersonal cruise boat. Tip: there are jackets to borrow when you get on the ship, get one right away! They ran out by the time we realized they had them.

This was such a wonderful way to start our trip in San Francisco!! Beautiful up close views of the Golden Gate while on a Catamaran. The staff was so friendly and helpful. They even recommended places to visit for the rest of our time there. Such a great time--would highly recommend this adventure!

You can't beat this for the money. Sailed right by Alcatraz and under the Golden Gate. Friendly crew. Great time. Enjoyed this tremendously.

Best kept secret...

booked this evening sunset cruise for my husbands birthday weekend get-away. Met up with my sister and her husband for the cruise. We had a great time. It did get quite cold and a little choppy, but was so much fun. They kept the or-devours stocked, with nuts, chips, salsa, crackers, fruit, Bree cheese, vegis and dips, and gave two free drinks to each passenger. We sailed out across the bay and under the Golden gate Bridge. The staff was great and we had a lot of fun.

the cruise was so fun and the sunset was incredible.

My wife and I toured the wine country and even spent some time in San Jose for our honeymoon but this was by far the most fun we had on our trip. You have not seen San Francisco until you see it from the water with the wind in your hair. They provide the jackets, definitely a must do for anyone!

This is my SIXTH time on the Adventure Cat, and I love every cruise as if it were my first time. I take all of my guests -- from New York to Texas to China -- everyone LOVES the Catamaran on the bay!

I purchased the afternoon trip for my boyfriend and me. The trip far exceeded my expectations. My boat had only 10 other passengers, leaving plenty of room to roam around the boat. The staff on the boat was friendly and knowledgeable about the area. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone looking for a great, personable, and affordable boat ride on the bay.
