Great Time

I took my kids out for their fist sailing experience on the Adventure Cat, and they had a great time. You never know what the weather on the bay will be, but we had one of the best days. We sailed with the wind around Alcatraz and out under the bridge and then a slow sail back. The ride was smooth and the crew very nice.

Great way to see the Golden Gate Bridge

In short - a fantastic way to see the Golden Gate Bridge and the San Francisco skyline. You can move freely around the boat, both inside and outside. If you want to go outside, you might want to bring a fleece &/or a wind proof jacket. There's even snacks and drinks provided as part of the ticket. A thoroughly enjoyable excursion.

It was truly awesome! Much better value than the ferry trip.

Breathtaking Views

It was an amazing experience and one that I could not recommend highly enough to anyone. It was a great experience to be on a real sailing boat and the catamaran made you really feel in touch with the elements. The ride was so smooth even over the choppy parts in the Bay and the views were truly breathtaking - sailing under the Golden Gate Bridge was amazing. The City looks so beautiful from the water.

The cruise was a unique way to spend a sunset. Not real expensive and great views. Don't expect great food but servicable. Just a nice way to see the bay.

My husband and I recently took a sunset bay cruise on the AdventureCat2 to celebrate our anniversary and had an amazing time! The weather was perfect, the staff was super friendly and accommodating, and the views were spectacular! We had a great time! We will definitely be back in the future and will recommend this particular cruise to our friends.

Great adventure in a relaxed and safe environment!

I planned the activity as part of a 50th birthday celebration. Our group of 5 included ages between 40 and 75 and everyone had a great time. The captain and crew were pleasant and accomodating. The boat was a nice size and not overcrowded and the drinks and hours d'oeuvres were a nice addition to the boat ride. I have visited San Francisco many times and found this to be one of the most enjoyable tourist type activities I have done. I will bring out of town visitors back for this. I also felt that it was a good value.

Sunset Sail...Sweet!

Our sunset sail was a Sweet 16 birthday event for our daughter and 6 of her friends. My husband and I enjoyed ourselves very much. We especially enjoyed the middle bow of the boat as we headed towards Angel Island. The kids were thrilled, shrieking as they made their way across deck. Many photos were taken during our sail, which were fantastic because of the beautiful bay, islands and of course the Golden Gate bridge. We all headed down below deck for snacks. There was something for everyone, my husband even tried the brie and loved it! There was also some great music playing that enhanced the experience. The crew was friendly and protective of our party, since the kids spend most of their time near the railing looking out at the water. It was the perfect memorable event we hoped it would be. I look forward to taking my extended family and friends in the future.

Beautiful, no-nonsense, sailing trip

We really enjoyed our 1 1/2 hour trip around Alcatraz, past Angel Island, and under the Golden Gate. The boat was comfortable and stable. It was a delightfully quiet way to enjoy the Bay. There was no touristy commentary, no commentary at all. It was a simple pleasure.

Best baot tour in the sf bay!
Fri, Oct 3, 08   5:30 PM mkonigsberg Female 30-39 Local Family Without Children
The Adventure Cat is the best boat tour in the SF Bay for sure. I've taken family and friends that come in to town and they all have said that it was one of the high lights of their trip. I would recomend the sunset cruise. It's a little bit more expensive, however very affordable, and includes 2 drinks, as well as appetizers(brie, crackers, chips, good bread, etc..) They always play really good music too!

Very fun trip - Even for locals!

I've lived in SF for 12 years, but somehow had never been out onto the Bay. Why did I wait? Who knows. But now I know who to go with: the Adventure Cat is a great way to get out and see our local treasure. It departs from Pier 39, so you cruise right past the sea lions. Having the sails go up overhead is thrilling, and the trip around Alcatraz, under the Bridge, and back along the waterfront feels like a real adventure. You can even sit on the mesh 'trampolines' out front and look straight down at the water while being bounced and splashed with the waves. It's also fine for more sedate people since there is seating indoors and in the stern. The only problem is that the seats are very low (almost at the water line) and the views are not so good. So this trip would be less good for people who don't feel comfortable standing or sitting cross-legged on the mesh up front. If I go out with elderly relatives I might take one of the other cruise options. For young people, or adventurous types, this is definitely the trip to pick. Also, keep an eye out for dolphins as you go under the Golden Gate Bridge!

excellent trip

Adventure Cat provided a great sailing tour of the area around the Golden Gate bridge. The trip was far more relaxed and quiet than the typical boat tour herding mobs of tourists around. Our family had a great time relaxing on the trampoline, viewing the bay, and watching the water go by.

Great Final Evening in San Francisco!
Mon, Sep 29, 08   5:30 PM cmvan50 Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Other
Spent our 30th Anniversary in San Francisco and took the sunset cruise our last night. On a previous visit, I'd taken the cruise on the larger catamaran...this time there were only 8 people so they used the smaller boat. Great fun! It was crisp and cool and breezy - we stood on the nets out front and enjoyed every moment! The crew, Capt. Jake and Rosealee were experienced not only in sailing, but in making the guests feel comfortable. The hors dourves and wine was a great touch. It was an exceptional evening for sailing -- we flew along the bay and under the Golden Gate Bridge. We returned to the city just as the sun was beginning to set and the city lights were twinkling. What's not to love?? Don't just stand on the pier and wish that you were on the AdventureCat as it sails out... DO IT!

A good time was had by all the family

This is our second sail. Last year and this year. It is a perfect sail around the Bay, one and a half hours, especially with children. My grandsons look forward to this annual event. The catamaran is thrilling for them (and us!!). Of course we would recommend more than once a year! Moira Sornstein Santa Rosa CA
