Celebrity Bus Sightseeing Tour of New York |
Do I have to purchase tickets in advance?
Tickets must be purchased in advance, and tours often sell out quickly. To maximize your chances of getting the day and time you prefer, please book well in advance. Tickets can only be purchased with a Visa, Mastercard or American Express.
Will we see any celebrities on the tour?
There is always a very good chance! On previous tours, we have seen Mary Tyler Moore walking her dog, Bette Midler strolling with her daughter, Paul Newman, Uma Thurman with her children, Mia Farrow, Dustin Hoffman, and others.
If we see celebrities on the tour, may we approach them?
Your purchase of a Rich and Famous Tour ticket is your agreement not to approach celebrities on the tour or after the tour is concluded.
What is the difference between the tours offered by Rich & Famous Tours?
The Rich & Famous Bus Tour is an overview of both the Upper East and Upper West Side neighborhoods where many celebrities live. The Central Park West Walking tour is only a tour of the Upper West Side between Columbus Circle and West 86th St. The Ground Zero/Wall St. Walking Tour is not a celebrity themed tour, but rather an exploration of New York City's extreme historic downtown areas where the city originated 350 years ago and is now the financial district.
What are the exact stops on the tour?
Stops may change on the bus tour depending on time and traffic but usually there will be two photo stops.
Do we go inside of any celebrity homes?
Although you will have plenty of great photo ops along the way, and we may go inside of one or two locations, we will NOT be going inside any private residences. You'll be viewing the homes from the outside and will hear about the residences from your tour guide.
Are small children welcome on the tour?
Yes children are encouraged on the tour but car seats are not available for small children. All children MUST be accompanied by a paying adult. Children old enough to occupy a seat must buy a child's ticket.
Do the tours operate rain or shine?
Yes, our tours go out rain or shine. Most of the tour takes place on an enclosed motor-coach bus but we do get off once or twice at certain locations, so please dress appropriately for the weather.
Will there be refreshments available on the tour?
Generally, no. However, along the way we may pass a vendor who sells water and soft drinks.
Can I bring food and beverages on the bus?
Only bottled water may be brought on the tour bus. We appreciate your cooperation.
Will there be a restroom stop on the tour?
The bus is equipped with a restroom.
What type of bus do you use?
The tour takes place on an enclosed, climate-controlled motorcoach fully equipped with a bathroom on board.
What are some of the areas and landmarks we will drive by or view on the Rich & Famous bus tour?
Times Square, Rockefeller Center, Madison Ave., Fifth Avenue, Millionaire’s Mile, Museum Mile, Upper East and West Sides, Central Park, Lincoln Center, Juilliard School, NBC Studios, Regis & Kelly studios , MTV TRL Studio, The Dakota, Strawberry Fields, Central Park West, Harlem’s Morningside Heights district, Columbia University, dozens of Celebrity residence buildings, the Seinfeld “diner”, Museum of Natural History, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Grant’s Tomb, Riverside Drive, Columbus Circle, and much more.
Is this a full day New York City tour?
No, Rich & Famous Tours is a bus tour through the most glamorous and historic parts of midtown and uptown Manhattan, lasting no longer than 3 hours.
Will we go to Ground Zero or the Statue of Liberty on this tour?
Not on this particular Rich and Famous tour. This is a tour of midtown and upper Manhattan areas. Please take the Ground Zero/Wall Street Walking Tour, if you're interested in seeing these sites.
Does this tour have anything to offer a native New Yorker?
Absolutely! Many locals enjoy hearing about the local history, fabulous real estate and celebrities!
Where does the tour begin and end?
The tour begins and ends in the same place - a convenient Times Square meeting location near Broadway and 50th Street.
Are cameras allowed?
Photo cameras are allowed outside. If we go into an establishment for any reason, there may be a stipulation on photos.
How does the $20 cash prize work?
Easy! The first person on the bus to spot a bona fide celebrity receives $20 cash, at discretion of the guide. The guide must also see the famous person and verify the sighting.
Can I take a stroller or luggage on the tour?
You may bring a stroller or luggage on the tour as long as it's placed beneath the motor-coach for the duration of the tour.
Can I leave my belongings on the bus during the stops?
You may leave anything you would not like to carry around on the bus. However, we cannot take responsibility for lost or stolen items, so please keep that in mind when preparing for the tour.
Is the bus handicapped accessible?
Unfortunately, the bus is not handicapped accessible. However, we will do our best to help guests with limited mobility come on board the bus.
