Activity #1322 |
Year of the Ox Chinatown Stroll and Banquet |
How far in advance should I book the Stroll and Banquet?
As soon as you have set your plans and you know you would like to attend. This event will sell out, so please make sure to purchase your tickets early. Advance purchase is required with a Visa or Mastercard.
What time should I arrive for my tour?
The Wok Wiz Lunar New Year program begins promptly at the schedule time. Please make sure to arrive 15 minutes early so we can sign everyone in and start the tour on time.
How long is the walking portion of the event?
We will be walking for the first 1.5 hours of the event, and then we will finish up at a Chinatown restaurant for a 1.5 hour banquet.
Is the walking strenuous?
Not at all. It is a relaxing walk, with many pauses and a few stops (refer to tour descriptions).
Where will the banquet take place?
We will hold our banquet in a surprise Chinatown restaurant location.
What does the banquet include?
The banquet will serve traditional foods of the Lunar New Year, but the exact menu has yet to be determined!
Is the tip to the tour leader and restaurant included?
The gratuity to your tour leader is not included. Consider him/her as you would others in the industry, or as servers in restaurants, cab drivers, etc. You tip them at your discretion, and a good time to do so is after the tour, when you are saying farewell. The tip at the restaurant is included with your tour cost but if a server is extraordinary, s/he will always appreciate a little bonus.
Where does the tour end?
The tour finishes at the Chinatown restaurant where we have our new year banquet, or if you have tickets for the parade, a Wok Wiz representative will guide you to our VIP seats.
How can I get a ticket to the New Year Parade?
Once you purchase your tickets for the Stroll and Banquet, you will be provided for contact information to reach Wok Wiz Chinatown Tours so you can call them directly and secure your VIP seat for the New Year Parade.
How much do tickets to the parade cost?
Tickets are $35 and can be purchased with Visa or Mastercard through Wok Wiz directly. You will be provided with the contact information once you purchase tickets for the Stroll and Banquet.
What happens if it rains?
The tour operates rain or shine. We will be spending time outside, as well as in some of the local establishments, so please dress accordingly. It almost always rains on the Lunar New Year Parade, so do bring umbrellas.
Are children allowed on the tour?
Children ages six and older are welcome to join us on the tour, but they must purchase a full price Standard ticket. Unfortunately we cannot accommodate children under the age of 6 on this event.
Are there bathrooms available on the tour?
There is a bathroom at the meeting location as well as at the restaurant where we will enjoy the banquet. Bathroom breaks will only be made during the 1.5 hour stroll portion of the event if there is an emergency.
Is the tour wheelchair and handicap accessible?
Unfortunately due to the large crowds in Chinatown during this time of year, wheelchairs are not suggested for this event.
What if I have dietary restrictions?
Unfortunately this event might not be for you. We do not make exceptions to the food that we eat. It will be too distracting to have to make changes.
