Do I have to purchase tickets in advance? Can I pay cash?
Tickets must be purchased in advance, and tours often sell out quickly. To maximize your chances of getting the day and time you prefer, please book well in advance. Tickets can be purchased online or over the phone with a Visa, MasterCard or AmEx.
What happens if it rains?
Walks take place rain or shine. Please dress appropriately for the day's forecasted weather conditions. Remember to bring water, sunglasses and sunscreen on warm, sunny days. Most of all wear comfortable shoes! In the event of severe or unsafe weather that would require the cancellation of the tour, you would be allowed to reschedule to another day and time or receive credit for any future tour.
Do you offer Cultural Heritage Tours of other Boston Neighborhoods?
At the present time we don’t but, this is our goal! In the future we will create Cultural Heritage Tours for Beacon Hill, South Boston and the Back Bay.
Will there be any place to sit during the tour? Is it a fast paced tour?
We visit three Catholic Churches where you can relax shortly and appreciate the beauty, history and reverence all around you. Most of the tour involves standing and walking as we wind our way through the neighborhood. You should plan to be on your feet for the length of the tour. Please wear your comfortable walking shoes. We walk at a relatively moderate pace.
Does the tour include any food?
At the present time the tour does not include any food. Although during the tour you'll be made aware of all the best places to eat, and the best kept secrets.
Do you visit restaurants on the tour?
We don’t walk into restaurants but we provide you with a handout listing restaurants by category. Those headings include Romantic, Bistro, Elegant Boutique, and Old Fashioned Italian American Home Cooking. We will also point out our favorite restaurants and why we love them as we pass by.
Can we take photos during the tour?
Absolutely! Photography is encouraged along this tour. In fact, enter your best shot in our photo of the month contest and win two free tour tickets! We will display the winners each month in our photo gallery.
Does this tour have anything to offer a native of Boston or the North End?
Definitely! Without a doubt! The stories told on the tour are seldom heard and mostly unknown. Many of our attendees live in the Boston area, but have never experienced the treasures of the North End. Locals often attend to learn about the neighborhoods and the city in which they live.
