----------------QUESTIONS ABOUT TICKETS/POLICIES----------------
Do I have to purchase tickets in advance?
Advance purchase is strongly recommended, as trips often sell out quickly. To maximize your chances of getting the day and time you prefer, please buy your tickets well in advance. Tickets can only be purchased with a Visa, Mastercard or American Express.
What happens if it rains?
We will still sail in the rain as long as we have enough customers that want to go out! The rain is of no consequence; we are concerned with wind and sea conditions and they are not necessarily bad during the rain. In fact, some of our best conditions can be on a rainy day, so dress appropriately. In the case of severe weather, we may cancel up to an hour before the start time in which case you will be allowed to reschedule tickets (subject to availability) or receive credit for a future event.
What's the best time of day to go fishing?
The day trips are usually the most productive, either the 8-12 pm or the 1-5 pm trips!
Are children allowed?
Yes, we love children, and families are welcome. Children 12 years and under have a reduced ticket price (including very small children).
How experienced do I have to be?
Our helpful crew will give instructions, bait your hook, and clean your catch. No experience is necessary.
I don't want to fish; can I still go on the trip?
Yes, but you will still have to pay the full fare.
If this trip is sold out can I get on a waiting list?
Cancellations are rare, as tickets are non refundable and cannot be rescheduled. However, you are welcome to show up at the Marina around one hour prior to the departure time, and any remaining spots will be sold on a first-come first-served basis. To ensure the best chance of fishing with us on your preferred trip, we recommend booking your trip as soon as you know the day you would like to attend.
How early should I arrive to check in before the trip?
Please arrive 30-60 minutes prior to trip departure time - our trips generally leave right on time!
------------QUESTIONS ABOUT FISHING, LIMITS, & TRIP SPECIFICS------------
Do you guarantee that fish will be caught?
We can guarantee fishing but not catching. Our crew will do everything in its power to put you where the fish are. We can not control what does or does not bite the hook.
How many fish can I keep?
You can keep what you catch as long as it is within legal restrictions.
Do I have to keep the fish I catch?
No, but our crew appreciates any unwanted fish.
What do I do with the fish I decide to keep?
Our crew will clean your fish for a tip (whatever you want to give). There is a restaurant nearby (Hurricane Ally Raw Bar and Restaurant) that will cook your catch for free. Or you can take your catch home with you. You may want to bring a cooler for your fish.
Can I sell the fish I catch?
No, not unless you have a Florida license to sell fish!
What happens when everyone catches their limits?
This would be an unusual occurrence. If it did happen we would either come in to the dock early or try to catch a different type of fish.
How much of the trip will be spent fishing versus riding?
We will usually spend around 2 1/2 hours fishing, as it takes about 35 minutes to get to the fishing spots.
How far does the boat go out?
The boat usually goes out about one mile offshore.
What do I see when I'm not fishing?
As the boat travels to the fishing locations you will see multi-million dollar homes along the Intracoastal Waterway. Once outside the Boynton Inlet you will always see land.
We will also have the opportunity to observe many different species of birds and marine life!
What is the voluntary jackpot?
The voluntary jackpot is an optional pool for the heaviest fish of the day conducted by the crew. If you choose to participate and put $5 in the pool, the winner will win 2/3 of the pot! The crew will keep 1/3 cut.
-----------------FISHING EQUIPMENT AND LICENSES------------------
Will I need a license to go fishing?
No. You are covered by our fish license when fishing aboard our vessel.
Can you provide me with fishing gear, bait, and tackle?
Yes. We provide you with a rod, reel, bait, and tackle -- everything you need to fish is included.
What type of bait is used on the trip?
We use Spanish sardines, squid, and chum as bait for our trips.
I have my own equipment. What type of gear do I need?
We use 4-0 Reels and 40 pound test line on board - feel free to bring your own!
---------------------WHAT SHOULD I BRING?-------------------------
Can I bring my own food and/or beverages?
We suggest that you bring your own food and beverages with you on the trip. Coolers are allowed, but NO alcohol is allowed aboard. We do not sell anything aboard the boat, but you can purchase snacks and drinks at the Marina before we leave.
How much extra cash should I bring?
Bring enough cash to tip the crew and enter the fish pool if you choose.
The crew was awesome! Can I leave a gratuity?
Yes, our helpful crew appreciates any gratuity.
Can I bring an ice chest?
Yes, but no alcohol is allowed aboard.
---------------------QUESTIONS ABOUT THE BOAT----------------------
Will there be room on the boat to stow my belongings?
Yes, we have an inside cabin where you can place your things, but you must be responsible for your own belongings.
Is the boat wheelchair accessible?
Our ramp is too narrow for a wheelchair. When customers in wheelchairs come fishing with us, we lift the chair aboard and then the customer can sit in their chair on the boat. So as long as you're able to board the boat with assistance, it should be no problem. We can also help you access the restrooms on board if you have limited mobility. We do not suggest attending if you're in a wheelchair on days with rough seas.
Is there shade on the boat?
Yes, we have an overhang where you can sit and fish, and an inside cabin. On hot summer days the 1-5 pm trip will be shadier then the 8-12 noon, because the sun will be more overhead!
Which boat will we be going on?
The 72' vessel Sea Mist III (capacity to take up to 40 guests).
Are there restrooms on board?
Yes, there are separate restrooms for men and women on board. Unfortunately they are not wheelchair accessible.
Is the boat safe?
Very safe. The Sea Mist III is U.S. Coast Guard certified.
Are there life jackets on the boat? Do I have to wear one?
Yes, we do have enough life jackets on board for every passenger. However, life jackets are for emergency purposes only, and you will not be required to wear one.
Will I get seasick?
Everyone is different. There is always the chance of getting seasick, especially when the seas are rough. If you are susceptible to motion sickness, you may consider taking preventative measures beforehand, although we cannot officially advise you to do so.
------------PRIVATE CHARTERS AND GIFT CERTIFICATES------------
Can I book a private fishing trip?
Absolutely! During the summer months the boat is available for private charters, with two weeks notice required. Please "Contact this seller" to inquire further.
Are gift certificates available?
Gift certificates are available at our tackle shop. If you would like more information, please "Contact this seller."
Are you running trips on Friday, July 4th?
Yes and the night trip (6-10 pm) is an excellent way to see the Delray Beach Fireworks and avoid the crowds. JOIN US FOR FISHING & FIREWORKS ON THE OCEAN FRIDAY, JULY 4TH (6-10 pm trip).
