Do I have to purchase tickets in advance?
Yes! This cruise is extremely popular, and sells out quickly. To maximize your chances, please book well in advance. Tickets can be purchased with a Visa, Mastercard or American Express.
What type of ticket should I buy if I'm bringing a very young child?
For children between the ages of 6 and 12, you can purchase a reduced price Child ticket. Children ages 4 and younger are complimentary as long as they do not participate in the dinner, but you'll still need to enter the appropriate number of Wee One tickets labeled "Free" when purchasing. All passengers, regardless of age, must have a ticket, so please make sure your entire party is accounted for in this way.
What exactly do we see on the cruise?
On this cruise you will get a first hand view of the participants in the Parade of Lights. It will be evening so unfortunately you won't be able to see all the great wildlife in the area, but the parade of lights is more than entertaining!
Are drinks or food served on the cruise?
Yes! We will be serving a buffet-style dinner (not all-you-can-eat) with all the trimmings; Prime Rib, grilled chicken, vegetable du jour, side salad, baked potato and apple pie. Beverages include water, lemonade, iced tea and coffee. There is also a snack bar on board where you may purchase soft drinks, candy, popcorn, film, and miscellaneous souvenirs. We ask that you refrain from bringing your own food or drinks (other than the limited amount of alcohol) on board. Please bring cash or check if you plan on utilizing the snack bar, as credit cards are not accepted on the boat.
Is gratuity included?
Yes, for your convenience, gratuity is included in the price of your ticket. All attendees pay a 10% gratuity as part of their ticket cost, so you will not be expected to pay any additional gratuity during or after the cruise!
What tax do I have to pay?
Your ticket includes the cost to attend plus a gratuity. The tax rate has been adjusted so you only pay tax on the cost to attend the cruise.
Can I bring my own alcohol on board?
For the dinner cruise only, you are allowed to bring alcohol on board. Each individual (21 years and older) may bring on one of the following: 2 -12 ounce cans of beer OR 1-6 ounce,plastic-sealed container of wine. NO EXCEPTIONS. No other food or beverage is allowed on board.
What happens if it rains?
The Dolly Steamboat runs rain or shine. Both levels are mostly covered, and your captain and crew watch the weather forecasts closely to ensure your cruise is a safe, enjoyable, memorable experience.
Are there restrooms on the boat?
Yes, the boat is equipped with two bathrooms that are accessible at all times. One of the restrooms is wheelchair accessible.
What should I wear?
We recommend dressing in festive holiday colors! A light jacket or sweater is also recommended this time of year.
Is the boat safe?
Yes! The Dolly is kept up to the highest levels of safety. We have life jackets for everyone on board and children ages 12 and younger must wear a life jacket at all times.
Can I stow anything during the tour?
You can bring any personal items on the tour, but we do have limited storage space, so please try to keep large items to a minimum. Please keep in mind that we cannot take responsibility for any broken, lost or missing items.
Is smoking allowed on the cruise?
Due to changes in the Arizona State Law there is no smoking permitted on board.
Is the boat wheelchair/stroller accessible?
The lower deck of the vessel is wheelchair accessible. You are also welcome to bring strollers on board.
How far is the boat from the parking lot?
Depending on where you park your car, you could be as close as 20 feet or as far as 100 feet from the boat. If there is someone in your party who would have difficulty walking 20 to 100 feet, you do can drive your car as close as just 10 feet from where the boat boards (at the ticket booth) in order to let those guests off to get settled on the boat before you go to park the car.
Do I have to pay to park?
No, parking is free in the Canyon Lake Marina parking lot.

Are gift certificates available for the Dolly Steamboat cruises?
Yes, gift certificates are available for the Twilight Dinner Cruise and the Narrated Nature Cruise, and they make a perfect gift for holidays, birthdays or any other occasion! How is my gift certificate delivered? Can I print it out now and give it to the recipient myself?
Yes, you can! When you purchase your gift certificate online, you will be presented immediately with your gift certificate so that you can print it out and deliver it. If you buy it over the phone, a link to your gift certificate will be emailed to you as soon as your purchase is completed.
What if I want the gift certificate emailed to the recipient instead?
That's no problem, either! When you purchase your gift certificate, just select the option to have the certificate emailed directly to the recipient and provide their email address. You'll even be able to decide whether you want the email sent immediately or if you'd prefer to schedule it to be emailed on a future date. (For instance, if you want to buy it today so you don't forget, but you don't want it emailed to the recipient until their special day!)
Do gift certificates have due dates?
No! You may redeem a gift certificate at any time, though we do recommend doing so during the season in which it is purchased. Please keep in mind that if the price of the meal on the Twilight Dinner Cruise increases before the recipient redeems the gift certificate, he or she may have to pay the difference in cost.
