Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to purchase tickets in advance?
We highly recommend purchasing tickets in advance in order to get the sail on the day/time you prefer. Tickets can be purchased with a Visa, Mastercard, or American Express.
Is there parking, and where?
Yes! There is a paid parking garage in the mall, and limited street parking is also available. Further details will be provided upon purchasing your tickets.
What type of ticket should I buy if I'm bringing a very young child?
Children ages 4 to 12 have a reduced price ticket, and children 3 and under are free, but must still have a free ticket in order to attend. Again, all passengers, regardless of age, must have a ticket, so please make sure your entire party is accounted for in this way.
What exactly do we see on the sail?
You will see the Miami river, historic Biscayne bay, Fisher Island, the Freedom Tower, Miami Seaquarium, Coconut Grove, Cape Florida Lighthouse, Miami’s skyline, Italian Renaissance Villa and Gardens of Vizcaya.
Is food or drink served during the sail?
There will be light snacks such as chips and peanuts available for sale on board for $1 each, and soft drinks available for $2 a piece. You are also welcome to bring your own food or drink on board! Alcohol is not available for sale on board, but you are welcome to bring your own (coolers are welcome).
Is the boat safe?
Absolutely. The Heritage is a safe and gentle vessel. We are stocked with beverages, blankets and life jackets should you feel you need one. There are also private marine heads (bathrooms).
Will I get seasick?
The sail will stay in the Bay (not on the ocean) so it's very rare that passengers get seasick. Of course if you are particularly prone to motion sickness, you may want to consider taking preventative measures beforehand.
Is there a bathroom on the boat?
Yes, the boat is equipped with two bathrooms that are accessible at all times. We call them "marine heads".
Can I stow anything (eg, my luggage) during the sail?
Yes, there is plenty of room for you to stow your belongings on board!
What should I wear?
We recommend that you dress casually, and keep in mind that it is usually cooler out on the water than on land. Bring layers!
Where does the sail finish?
Our sails will end at the same dock from which they departed.
What happens if it rains?
We try to run in very light or moderate weather conditions, but in the case of severe weather, we would have to cancel, and you would be allowed to reschedule to another trip (subject to availability) or receive credit for a future trip! If it starts to sprinkle while we're out on a sail, we will put up a sun awning that will block the majority of the rain and protect you from the elements.
Is gratuity included in the price of the sail?
Gratuity is not included in the price of the sail. It is customary to reward your crew with cash tips following the trip.
Is the schooner wheelchair accessible?
Manual wheelchairs should be fine, but unfortunately we cannot accommodate electric wheelchairs due to their weight. We can however accommodate strollers on board. If you need more information, please click on the "Contact this seller" link and let us know about your particular situation.
Can I book a private charter?
Sure! We offer charters for parties, corporate events, bar mitzvahs - you name it! Please click on the "Contact this seller" link and tell us about your event, and someone will get back to you shortly.
Are gift certificates available for this sail?
