These events do often sell out. Check the website or call as soon as you know when you would like to attend to check availability for public trips and book as early as possible. No waiting lists are available.
Is there parking and how much is it?
There is parking on all the piers at Chelsea Piers. You must be south-bound on the West Side Hwy in order to access the turn-in for parking. Up to 3 hours of parking is $17, and up to 4 hours is $26. We do not manage the parking lot and those rates may change at any time. You could confirm at anytime with Chelsea Piers Parking department: www.chelseapiers.com
What type of ticket should I buy if I'm bringing a very young child?
Since much of this event is narrated and half of the event is on foot, make sure the child you are bringing is up to the task at hand. Infants are not recommended, but you will not be turned away if you are bringing an infant. For children between the ages of 3 and 14 you should purchase a reduced price Child ticket. Children ages 2 and younger ride for free, but you’ll still need to enter the appropriate number of Infant tickets labeled “Free” when purchasing. All passengers, regardless of age, must have a ticket, so please make sure your entire party is accounted for in this way.

How about drinks? Should I bring those too?
No, it is illegal for you to bring alcohol of your own on board. A complimentary beer, wine, champagne soda or water is offered on all cruises. On the walking tour no drinks will be provided, so please bring bottled water along with you if you require something to drink during that portion of the event.
Is the Yacht Manhattan safe?
Absolutely. Along with your captain, there is a minimum of two crew members on every sail to make sure you feel comfortable and at home on the water. We are stocked with water, beverages, and life jackets should you feel you need one.
How steady is the cruise? Am I likely to get seasick?
It is very rare for our guests to become seasick. While most people do not experience any sea sickness on the Motor Yacht Manhattan, you may want to consider light medication if you normally take it for motion sickness. We cannot officially advise you to take any medication, however.
Is there an age limit for these cruises?
While there is no age limit for the cruise, all attendees under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Since this is a narrated tour with is 50% of it on foot, it is not recommended for very young children.
Where doe the walking tour begin and end?
The tour begins at the dock where your cruise ends near 22nd Street. The walking portion ends at Gansevoort Street in the Meatpacking District.
How much ground will we cover on the walking tour? Is the terrain difficult?
We will cover about 1 mile over the course of 90 minutes, at a leisurely pace. There will be steps to climb to get up to High Line park, but otherwise the course will be very easy!
On the walking tour will there be places to sit?
The tour is short, but there will be limited seating at various spots throughout the tour route if necessary.
Where does the cruise finish?
Our cruise will end at the same pier from which it departed.
Can I get a refund or reschedule my tickets after buying them?
Once purchased, tickets cannot be refunded and cannot be rescheduled because your space is being guaranteed at the event.
Do you ever cancel tours due to bad weather?
The cruise runs regardless of weather conditions. The walking portion of the event may be threatened by weather. Our team at Classic Harbor Line monitors radar avidly. Most summer showers are heavy but short. If need be, the tour may be paused for passing storm cells. On days of threatening weather, please bring an umbrella and/or a rain jacket. If there is a dangerous front coming with long periods of fore-casted rain or winds exceeding 30 mph, you may be contacted by Classic Harbor Line of an event cancellation. In that case your tickets may be rescheduled to another event (if available) or refunded.
Is gratuity included in the price of the the cruise or walking tour?
Gratuity is not included in the price of the cruise or walking tour. If you enjoyed yourself, gratuities are greatly appreciated.
What happens if it starts raining when we're out on our tour?
The aft-deck observatory of the Manhattan is a completely enclosed area with a roof, so in the event of rain, you will be covered. Along the walking portion of our tour, there are several locations to duck in out of the weather for passing showers. If inclement weather is fore-casted, please bring an umbrella and/or a raincoat for the day of your event.
Is the Manhattan handicap accessible?
The Manhattan is accessible to those with walkers and canes. While the exterior deck is also accessible to those in wheelchairs, the Manhattan is not completely wheelchair accessible by average standards. If you are in a wheelchair, please keep in mind that there is unfortunately no access into the main cabin (the back interior observatory). In addition, areas such as the and on-board restrooms have limited access as they are located down several steps. A guest using a wheelchair who would like to reach the back observatory must be comfortable with being carried down by our crew. For this reason, we cannot safely accommodate guests who require this service if they weigh more than 175 pounds. If you will need this service, please click the “Contact this Seller” link to discuss with us before purchasing tickets.
Is the High Line handicap accessible?
The High Line is wheelchair accessible at 16th Street inside the Caledonia. If your tour group requires handicap accessibility, the tour will be modified such that all guests can enter the High Line together. Please let us know if you require any special accommodations upon purchasing tickets.
Can I book a private charter cruise?
Yes, private cruises can be a unique and elegant event for your group. If you are interested in booking a private cruise, please contact us by clicking the "Contact this Seller" link.
Are gift certificates available for this event?
