Are Urban AdvenTours for all levels of riders?
You don't need to be Lance Armstrong to enjoy an Urban AdvenTours ride - we welcome all levels of cyclists. Please keep in mind that this ride covers 25 miles and some of it will be on city streets.
Are the tours safe?
Yes. Urban AdvenTours is a fully insured company. Be sure to arrive 15-20 minutes prior to departure time for bike adjustments and to ensure a safe and secure helmet fit.
Do I have to purchase tickets in advance? Can I pay cash?
Yes, advance purchase is required. You are only guaranteed a spot on a tour if you purchase a ticket 4 hours in advance. You can purchase the tickets with a Visa or MasterCard, cash is not accepted.
Am I required to sign a waiver?
Yes. It is a requirement that all individuals participating with Urban AdvenTours agree to sign a waiver. If you are under the age of 18, your parent or legal guardian must sign for you. A waiver will be provided to each participant to sign before the tour by your street guide.
Will there be food and beverages served on the tour?
Urban AdvenTours will supply each rider with water, though you will have to bring or purchase your own lunch.
How long do the tours last?
The tour generally lasts 4 hours, not including the train ride back.
Where does the tour end?
The tour will end in Concord Square, which is located west of Boston. Your guide will accompany you back to the commuter rail for the ride back into Boston.
How long is the train ride back?
The train ride from Concord Square to the North Station will take approximately 40 minutes.
How much does the train ride back cost?
The commuter rail costs $6.25 per person.
Where does the train drop you off?
The commuter rail will drop passengers off at the North Station, which is located within a few hundred yards of our shop.
Will there be a stop during the tour to eat lunch?
While there is no scheduled stop during the tour to grab lunch, we can always stop for a light snack along the way if everyone would like to. That said, there are plenty of great restaurants in the North End after you return your bikes.
How much money should I bring?
While you should definitely bring at least $6.25 to cover the cost of the commuter rail to get back to the North End, it is always a good idea to bring a little extra cash in case you'd like to pick up a snack during the tour or grab a bite to eat afterward. While not required, tip for your tour guides is also always greatly appreciated.
Can we ride our bikes back to the meeting location?
If you would like to inquire about keeping your bikes as a rental at the conclusion of the tour, please click the 'Contact this seller' link to make special arrangements.
Does the evening tour run after dark?
Yes, sometimes the evening tour does run after dark. The city has an entirely different feel at night, and the lights make for amazing photo opportunities. If you are taking the evening tour, be sure to bring an extra jacket or sweater as the temperature can dip quite a bit after sunset in Boston.
What if there is rain or inclement weather?
The tour will typically run in a light rain, but not in more severe or unsafe weather conditions. If AdvenTours needs to cancel the tour, we will contact you on the day of the tour to reschedule your tickets to another time that is convenient for you. Please be sure the local (or cell phone) number you provide when buying your tickets is accurate.

What special arrangements can be made for my children to take the tour?
The best thing you can do for your children is to book a private tour! After you have done that, we will be able to provide your child with a "pint sized" bicycle or a towing attachement for parents with toddlers. Click the "Contact this seller" link to inquire about taking a tour with your children.
Can I take my video camera on the tour?
Absolutely.
