Do I have to purchase tickets in advance?
Advance purchase is strongly recommended, and cruises often sell out quickly. To maximize your chances of getting the day and time you prefer, please buy your tickets well in advance. Tickets can only be purchased with a Visa, Mastercard or American Express. Guests without tickets may be accommodated on a limited basis based on food and space availability.
Which yacht will I be on?
You will be on the 105 foot Emerald Star (225 guests).
Where will the boat be located for the fireworks?
The boat wll be cruise around for a short time in Lake Union and then set up in the charter boat area just off Gasworks Park for the best possible viewing of the fireworks that will be directly overhead.
How do I get to the dock?
Waterways' Homeport is located on the north end of Lake Union at 2501 N. Northlake Way just east of Gasworks Park. Due to the holiday festivities at the park on the 4th of July, it is highly recommended to be dropped off and picked up either via cab or with one of our tour company partners, or to ride your bike. Further details will be provided upon purchasing your tickets.
What type of ticket should I buy if I'm bringing a very young child?
Children 4 years of age and younger can attend for free, but must have a free ticket due to Coast Guard regulations. Children between the ages of 5 and 11 have a special reduced priced ticket!
Is food served during this cruise?
Chefs Assorted light appetizer buffet and mini desserts will be served during the cruise. Coffee, tea, and soda are also included in the ticket price. Full bar services will be available for additional purchase on board.
What if I have food allergies?
If you have severe food allergies or dietary restrictions of any kind, we will do our best to accommodate you as long as we know in advance! Please include details on your situation in a "Message to the Seller" upon purchasing your tickets.
How about drinks? Should I bring those?
You may bring one bottle of water per passenger but other than that, personal beverages are prohibited. There will be Coffee, tea, soda, water included in your ticket price, and full bar services available for purchase during the cruise. Bring valid ID with you if you'd like to purchase additional alcoholic beverages on board. Non-alcoholic options include sodas, Italian Cream Sodas, Espresso Beverages / Lattes and Strawberry Lemonade.
How steady is the cruising? Am I likely to get seasick?
The yachts are steady, gentle vessels. It is very rare for our guests to become seasick since we stay on the Lakes which are not as rough as other local waters. While most people do not experience any sea sickness on the yachts, you may want to consider light medication if you normally take it for motion sickness. We cannot officially advise you to take any medication, however.
Is there a bathroom on the boat?
Yes, there are clean restrooms on board.
Can I stow anything (eg, my briefcase) during the cruise?
There is limited room on board to stow personal belongings. Please do not bring any heavy or large items such as luggage on board.
What should I wear?
Seattle weather is unpredictable! We ask that you be prepared for rain or shine, and temperatures that can range from chilly to true summer sun. This is a casual event, so there are no restrictions on ball caps in the dining area etc.
Where does the cruise finish?
Our cruises will end at the same pier from which they departed.
Do you ever cancel cruises due to bad weather?
The cruise runs rain or shine. The only time we cancel a trip is in the event of severe or unsafe weather conditions. Our captains monitor the radar to watch fronts and cells in the area on days when inclement weather is possible. Cancellations are made on the day of the cruise, by the Captain, up to 1 hour prior to departure time. If you have purchased tickets for a cruise that is canceled, you will have the opportunity to reschedule your tickets (subject to availability) or receive credit towards a future event.
What happens if it starts raining when we're out on our cruise?
In the event of rain, we'll still continue the cruise! We have fully enclosed decks and depending on the ship a covering on the upper level of the boat. You are in Seattle and rain is what we are known for!
Is gratuity included in the price of the cruise?
Gratuity is not included in the price of the cruise. If you've enjoyed your experience, tips for our hardworking crew are greatly appreciated!
Are the boats ADA accessible?
Our boats may be disabled/wheelchair accessible depending upon the specific details of your situation. There are step-overs on the boat doorways. Staff will be on hand to help guests with limited mobility. If you have a small, non-motorized wheelchair, we may be able to bring it on board with us. However, the upper decks will not be accessible for wheelchairs as we are not equipped with lifts or elevators. Restrooms are on the lower level on all the boats but are not certified handicapped accessible. For any additional questions, please click on the "Contact this seller" link.
