Do I need to buy tickets in advance?
Advance ticket purchase is highly recommended as tours do sell out. Any remaining tickets not sold 60 minutes prior to each tour are available for walk-in cash purchase on a space-available basis only.
How long is your pub crawl?
The Spirits & Spirits Haunted Pub Crawl lasts approximately four hours. We stop at 4 bars and taverns and will spend about 45 minutes at each while your Ghost Host shares the haunted tales of the area. We do recommend that you wear comfortable walking shoes and dress for the weather!
How much walking is involved?
We will be walking at a leisurely pace and will cover approximately a half mile of downtown Richmond. You will have an opportunity to sit down at each of the 4 pub stops.
Is this tour suitable for children?
No. Because the tour visits bars and taverns, no one under the age of 21 is allowed. All participants must present a valid ID in order to participate in the tour.
Are drinks included in the ticket price?
No, drinks are not included in the price of your ticket. If you wish to purchase drinks along the way, please bring extra cash or credit cards.
How much do drinks cost at the bars that they visit? How much money should I bring?
At the establishments we visit, drinks range from $4-6. There will be drink specials will be available at all of the bars and pubs we visit. We recommend that you bring $30-40 to cover the costs of food and beverages. Both cash and credit are accepted at all of the stops.
Can I bring my own food & drinks?
You are welcome to bring a bottle of water for the walk in between bars, but all other food and beverages are prohibited.
Can I smoke during the tour?
Yes, you will have the opportunity to smoke during the tour according to the rules of each establishment where we stop.
Does the tour happen rain or shine?
Yes, the tour runs in all weather unless we determine that it would be dangerous. If we cancel the tour, participants may reschedule or receive a credit for a future tour.
Can we bring cameras or video equipment?
But, of course!!! Unwitting photographers intending to shoot other subjects have taken some of the best ghost photos. Apparitions tend to show up in photos, even when you did not see anything while snapping the picture. The only thing we ask is that if you shoot a great ghost picture and sell it to the tabloids for a million dollars, you'll share some with us - just kidding. So good luck, and good hunting!
Can I bring my pet?
No. While pets are welcome on the other walking tours, this tour enters bars and taverns, so no pets are allowed.
Is there a minimum number of "tickets sold" required for the tour to depart?
Yes, we require a minimum of ten (10) total paid guests before the tour will go out. If less than 10 guests are signed up 24 hours prior to the tour date/time, we will contact you to reschedule.
If I am running late for the tour, will you wait for me?
We always start the tour on time. If you are running late, please let us know (using the contact info on your e-ticket). Give yourself plenty of time to find parking and get to the tour meeting point 15 minutes early to check-in!
Is tipping acceptable?
Tipping is always acceptable, but not required - it is totally at your discretion. Our guides are highly professional and well-trained to entertain you and all of our guests. Many of our guests appreciate good service and choose to reward it, and the guides are always grateful.
Can I setup a private tour?
Yes, private tours are available for groups of 8 or more on evenings when public tours are not scheduled. However, part of the fun of the tours is interacting with all the other participants who take the public tour.
