Culinary History French Quarter Tour (Private) |
Will this be the same as the public Culinary History French Quarter Walking Tour?
While the spirit and general thrust of the tour are based on the public Culinary History French Quarter Walking Tour, this will be a modified version, tailored to meet the specifics of this particular private event. The exact content and logistics of the tour may vary somewhat from the public version so that it may better meet your needs.
Are beverages provided?
No, but there are places along the way to purchase drinks, including the locations we visit. The City of New Orleans allows alcoholic drinks to be taken outside in plastic cups we call "go cups."
What about dietary restrictions?
Because our samples are supplied by restaurants and have been determined in advance, we are not able to modify the selections. Those with dietary restrictions need to consider their health needs first.
Do we just walk around and sample food?
Absolutely not! New Orleans and the French Quarter have a wonderful rich history. Visitors learn the history of the city and learn about the many ethnic influences that shaped our unique cuisine.
How much walking is included?
Although the tour can take up to 3 hours, we actually spend more time standing than walking. Most of the establishments are located within a 4 block radius. We are able to sit at some locations.
Are stairs involved?
Yes, we do climb stairs at 2 locations.
Is the tour wheelchair or stroller accessible?
Unfortunately not. New Orleans has rough, uneven sidewalks which make it very difficult.
What if it rains?
We do not cancel the tour for rain - only for extremely severe weather that has potential to cause injury (such as severe thunderstorms with lots of lightning and of course, hurricanes.) Refunds will be offered in the extremely rare event that the company cancels the tour, but in all other situations, no refunds will be provided.
Are cameras allowed?
Yes, visitors are allowed to take pictures at any of the establishments we visit.
