Frequently Asked Questions

----------------QUESTIONS ABOUT THE COMBO OF THESE TWO TOURS----------------
How does the Combo Tour work?
When you purchase your tickets for the Combo: New York TV/Movie Sites + NBC Studio Tour, your space will be guaranteed on the TV and Movie Sites tour for the date and time for which you bought tickets, and your purchase will also entitle you to admission to the NBC Studio Tour. You will be required to call NBC to reserve your date and time for the Studio Tour before you can attend that portion of the combo package. Until you call to reserve a specific NBC Studio Tour time, you are not guaranteed entry for your preferred time. When scheduling be sure to leave extra time between the two tours.
What is the difference between the Combo Tour and the regular New York TV and Movie Tour?
The Combo Tour includes a ticket for the New York TV and Movie Sites bus tour AND also entitles you to admission to the NBC Studio Tour. All for one, reduced, package price. After you purchase these combo tickets, you will be guaranteed on the TV and Movie Sites bus tour for the date and time for which you bought tickets. You will be required to call NBC to reserve your date and time for the Studio Tour. (If you decide that the standalone New York TV and Movie Sites Bus Tour is a better fit for you, you can get information and purchase tickets for it at www.zerve.com/OnLocation/TVTour.)
What if the date and time I wanted is not available?
As there is generally a purchase deadline of several days in place for the combo tour and since it also sells out often, there is still a possibility that you can book for each tour separately even if you do not see your desired date and time on the schedule for the combo tour. Be sure to check the schedule to see if the top-rated NY TV & Movie Sites standalone tour is still available. You can do this by using the links for the New York TV and Movie Sites tour and for All Activities, located towards the bottom-left of the combo tour page. You can then visit the NBC Universal Store website to check availability for the NBC Studio Tour. If you do book the tours separately, please keep in mind that there will not be a reduced rate on your tickets and no partial refunds will be provided.
How far in advance should I buy my tickets?
To receive the reduced, discounted Combo Tour price you must purchase your tickets no later than 3 days (72 hours) before the New York TV and Movie Sites Tour that you would like to attend. However, both the New York TV and Movie Sites Tour and the NBC Studio Tours sell out well in advance, so as soon as you are sure of the time and date you'd like to go on the TV and Movie Tour, you should buy your Combo Tour tickets and then call NBC immediately to reserve your date and time for the Studio Tour. (If it is already less than 3 days from when you would like to take the New York TV and Movie Sites Tour, you can still book this as a standalone tour, you are just no longer able to book it in combination with the NBC Studio Tour component.)
Are very young children allowed to attend the Combo Package?
No, children ages 5 and younger are not allowed on the NBC Studio Tour. If you would like to take a tour with your young children, you should check out the standalone New York TV and Movie Tour (NOT the combo tour).
If the date and time I want is sold out, is there a waiting list?
No, we do not keep a waiting list for the tours. Tours usually sell out, and often well in advance, so please make sure to purchase your tickets far in advance, especially if you have limited time availability. (After your combo tour purchase, please also make sure to call the NBC Studio Tour at the phone number you will be given on your e-ticket as soon as possible to maximize the likelihood of getting your preferred date and time for that portion of the combo package.)
Are there any further discounts available for the Combo Tour package?
No. Since this combo tour package is already significantly discounted from the price you would pay if you bought the two tours separately, no further discounting of any kind is available for this specially priced package.
Who operates each of the two components of this Combo Tour package?
The two components are operated by different companies. The New York TV and Movie Sites bus tour is run by On Location Tours, Inc., which has been showing real-life TV and movie locations since 1999. The NBC Studio Tour is operated by NBC. (After purchase, all questions regarding the NBC Studio Tour portion of your combo package will need to be addressed to NBC directly, at the contact information you'll be provided after buying your tickets.)
Are gift certificates available for the Combo Tour?

No. The New York TV and Movie Sites portion of the combo package takes place on a coach bus since the locations are spread out all around Manhattan. We do, however, get off the bus at a number of locations along the way, giving you the opportunity to experience the locations and take pictures. Whenever you leave the bus, it is with the tour guide. The tour includes a mix of on-the-bus viewings of locations and stops to get off the bus to explore, all woven into the story of how they relate to the TV shows and movies that have portrayed them.

There is no assigned seating on the bus - it's first come, first serve. If you have a number of people in your party that want to sit together, you should make sure to arrive 15-20 minutes early. Guests that arrive late or right at the starting time are much more likely to have to split up their group.
Is the New York TV and Movie Sites bus tour a good sightseeing tour?
Yes. The bus tour component of the combo package travels through much of Manhattan while highlighting the specific TV and movie locations that are the tour's focus. As a result, families and friends often find this tour an ideal way to tour the city. While the tour does not visit such Manhattan landmarks as the Statue of Liberty or Empire State Building, you will be visiting neighborhoods such as Greenwich Village, Chelsea, the Upper West Side and the East Village.

Is there ever a circumstance when a location is omitted from the New York TV and Movie Sites bus tour?
While it is extremely rare, we do sometimes need to skip or modify certain locations that usually are part of the tour. The example locations listed for the bus tour (e.g., the Friends apartment building, the Seinfeld Soup Nazi, the Ghostbusters firehouse, etc) are some of the locations this bus tour usually visits. Since the bus tour component of the combo package is visiting real-life locations all around Manhattan, however, the tour's itinerary can sometimes be impacted by traffic conditions, store hours, etc. On Location Tours assumes no liability or responsibility for: traffic conditions, access to sites, or other conditions beyond its control.
