The Chassidic Discovery Welcome Center is a nonprofit, cultural educational institution dedicated to sharing the ideals of Chassidic Life with a universal audience.
The tours began when Rabbi Beryl Epstein, a Tennessee native who grew up in a not-so-observant Jewish household, worked as campus Rabbi at Pratt Institute in 1982, and occasionally, together with his wife Dena, led a tour of Crown Heights for visitors to the neighborhood.
Now tours run daily (except Saturdays). Over 185,000 guests from all 50 states and over 60 different countries have participated, and enjoyed their intimate peek into the Crown Heights Chassidic community. Come along & enjoy the tour yourself!

Activity Description

Both moving and educational, this tour will open your eyes to this richly diverse community and take you to sites not generally accessible to the public. Guided by a warm, friendly and professional member of the community, you will:

- Visit Chabad-Lubavitch World Headquarters
- Take a tour of the Main Synagogue
- Visit the Rabbinical Study Hall and the Rebbe's Library
- Stop at a Judaica and Book Shoppe, other eateries and merchants, and enjoy special tour discounts
- Visit a Chassidic Art Gallery
- See a Scribe writing a Torah scroll
- Visit a hand-made Matza bakery (mid-Nov through mid-April)
