While on a PhotoWalks tour, people of all ages and skill levels use their own cameras and learn how to take creative pictures of Boston's historic sites and attractions. By applying fun photography techniques, participants learn to see things in ways they never considered before.
PhotoWalks offers five separate photo tours: Beacon Hill (year round), Back Bay (year round), Freedom Trail *includes the North End*(year round), Public Garden (mid-April – mid-September), and Waterfront (May – September). Come join us today for this unique and rewarding experience!

Activity Description
Walk along the Freedom Trail and discover fascinating facts and trivia about the events that led to the fight for independence. Capture pictures of the actual sites where historic events took place.
Find out which church colonists departed prior to the Boston Tea Party, which historic building nearly went to Chicago, and where John Hancock, Paul Revere and Samuel Adams are buried.
Photograph Boston’s colonial sites from a modern perspective! Photo opportunities include:
- Shaw Memorial
- Massachusetts State House
- Historic sites along the Freedom Trail
- North End - Boston's Little Italy
- Much more!
This tour may run between 1.5 and 2 hours long.
This PhotoWalks tour is presented with historic commentary and photography tips for taking creative pictures along Boston's famed Freedom Trail. Learn new skills that will inspire you to become a better photographer.
Includes the PhotoWalks Guide to Creative Photography booklet.
