Blue Planet is a small owner-operated company. Chad Bryant is an environmental scientist with over 15 years of experience researching and exploring the Keys’ marine habitats.
His formal background includes biology, marine science, oceanography, and botany and bird research.
All Blue Planet guides have experience leading eco-tours and are trained in marine or related studies, rescue and first aid. We enjoy sharing our appreciation and knowledge of this very special ecosystem. Blue Planet has been in operation since 2001.

Activity Description
The Boca Chica kayak tour offers a great diversity of marine life and habitats in a small area, highlighted by fantastic tidal creeks.
On emerald water we'll meander through islands of exotic red mangroves or "walking trees." You will want to bring your camera for this! Then paddle over sandy shallows brimming with:
- Unique coral
- Colorful sponges
- Queen Conch
- Starfish
- Crabs
- Anemones
- Urchins
- Tropical fish
Your guide will catch some of these critters - you can get to know them personally! As we drift near a tropical island you will see osprey nesting and wading birds feeding. Queen conch, small sharks, tarpon and stingrays are common, as is the spectacular Spotted Eagle Ray.
The Boca Chica tour is our most popular tour and a great paddle for families. Sheltered from the wind there are no waves. It's an ideal trip for beginner and pros alike.
Please note: You will need to arrive at the meeting location at least 35 minutes prior to the start time of the tour.
What Is Not Included?
Snorkeling or swimming are not included. The really cool stuff is seen in water only a few inches to a few feet deep!
