Meeting Location

Do I have to purchase tickets in advance?

Advance purchase is strongly recommended, as the ride around often sells out quickly. To maximize your chance of getting the day and time you prefer, please book well in advance. You can do this online or over the phone using only Visa, Mastercard or American Express.

How is a Ride Around different from a tour?

We offer our "Segway Ride Arounds" for those who don't have the time to take a guided tour. After a training session to show you how to ride safely, you can head out on your own in our preselected area. It is an open area behind the training facility and is quite sizable. One of our staff members will be on hand to assist at any point during your Ride Around.

How old do you need to be to ride a Segway?

Although riding a Segway is fairly easy, all riders are required to be at least 14 years of age (an adult or guardian must accompany children under 18).

What are the weight constraints to ride a Segway?

Segway recommends that the riders weigh at least 100 pounds and do not exceed 250 pounds. 250 pounds is the equivalent of 113.6 Kilograms or 17.85 Stone.

Can more than one person ride on one Segway?

No. This will pose a serious risk to two passengers as the machine is designed for only one. One machine for each person on the ride around.

I have children in my group that are under 14 years old. Can they still come on the ride around?

Is the ride around suitable for pregnant women?

No, pregnant women are not allowed to ride Segways for safety reasons.

What if I have an injury. Can I go on the ride around?

We don't recommend people with previous neck or back injuries to participate in the ride around for safety reasons. However, for those with leg injuries, we may be able to accommodate them using a "seated Segway." What is a Segway?

The Segway is the first self-balancing, electric-powered transportation device. With dimensions no larger than the average adult body and the ability to emulate human balance, the Segway uses the same space as a pedestrian, and can go wherever a person can walk.

How does a Segway work?

This breakthrough technology, termed "dynamic stabilization," is the essence of the Segway. Dynamic stabilization enables the Segway to work with the body's movements. Gyroscopes and sensors in the unit monitor a rider's center of gravity at about 100 times a second. When the rider leans slightly forward, the Segway moves forward. When the rider leans slightly back, the Segway moves backward.

Are Segways easy to ride?

Yes. It takes about 5 minutes to get familiar with the basics. Actual training will be longer to ensure you are comfortable with how the machine handles different textured surfaces.

How safe is a Segway? Will I fall?

Most people feel if they try riding a Segway they will be the one person who falls. Segways are designed to stay balanced. You will be trained on the complete operation of the machine. You will find it difficult to fall as long as you follow what you learn in our safety training. It is important that Segway riders understand their responsibility to ride safely. Proper skill level and understanding of the Segway prevents injuries caused by loss of control or misuse.

Are Segways gas powered?

No. They run on very special Lithium cell batteries.

How long does a charge last?

A fully charged machine can go for about 3.5 to 4.5 hours. That can also be anywhere from 18 to 24 miles.

What happens if it rains?

The ride around runs rain or shine. But don't worry! Some of our best ride arounds have taken place in less-than-perfect weather! Just remember to bring a poncho and not an umbrella, as you will need both hands to operate the Segway.

Do I have to sign a waiver?

All Segway riders must sign a liability waiver before participating. Riders under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian sign for them.

How much time of the ride around is actually spent on a Segway?

After 7 - 15 minutes of safety training, you will then have a full 30 minutes on the Segway.

Do Segways have the ability to store bags, purses?

We have the ability to transport necessary items i.e. cameras, wallets, etc. All other personal belongs will be kept in the meeting location. We are not responsible for lost or stolen articles.

Is there parking available at the starting location?

Yes, there is free parking available at our shop.

Are there restrooms available?

Yes, we have two restrooms available at the meeting location. But there are no easily accessible restroom stops along the tour route. If you should need to stop, please let us know and we will try to accommodate you.

Do you offer Segway rentals?

We do not offer Segway rentals. For those who don't have the time to take a guided tour, we suggest doing a "Segway Ride Around."

Can I arrange a private event?

Yes, we offer private group tours, up to 12 Segways, for corporate functions and private events. We offer drop-off and pick-up of the Segways as well as provide guides to assist with training, information and support throughout your event. Refund/Rescheduling Policy

Non-refundable, cannot be rescheduled.

Once purchased, tickets cannot be refunded and cannot be rescheduled because your space is being guaranteed at the event.

Weather Policy

Activity may be cancelled due to severe weather.

The activity usually runs in light rain and other moderate weather conditions, but the seller may cancel the activity up to an hour before the start time in the event of severe or unsafe weather conditions. If the seller cancels the event, ticket-holders will be allowed to reschedule tickets (subject to availability) or receive credit for a future event.

Other Policies

All participants must sign a waiver.

All participants are required to sign a liability waiver before participating in the Ride Around. Helmets are also required and are provided at no additional charge.

All participants must meet age and weight requirements.

All Segway riders must be age 14 or older and those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult or guardian. Each rider must weigh at least 100 pounds and no more than 250 pounds.

Not suitable for pregnant women or people with previous neck or back injuries.

Unfortunately, for safety reasons, we do not recommend a Segway Ride Around for those with previous neck or back injuries and pregnant women are not allowed to participate.
