For one daily flat rate, you can keep your bike for 24 hours from when you pick it up. Bikes can also be rented for multiple days. Full week rentals are available through Zerve for a flat rate of $175, a full $70 off our regular rate!
In addition to one of our high-quality hybrid bicycles, your rental includes a biking map, helmet, and lock.

HOW DOES THE BIKE RENTAL WORK?
Sign up for a date and time to begin your rental on Zerve. Try to choose a time close to when you think you can get to our shop (times are just a benchmark. Don't worry if you're running late!)

What Is Not Included?
This is a SELF-GUIDED bike tour, so you will not be accompanied by a tour guide.
For your own comfort, you might consider bringing a bottle of water or sports drink and snacks. We offer these at our shop as well.
We understand that flat tires happen. We offer flat kits for $5 with your rental, along with manuals to help you fix a flat.
If you do not purchase a kit and get a flat, we can direct you to the nearest bike shop, or we will come fix your flat as soon as possible for a fee of $25.

Bike rentals include a bicycle, helmet, and map. Locks are also included with the rental - be sure to ask for one when purchasing your tickets or when you arrive at our shop.
What kinds of hybrid bikes are available for rent?
Our primary rental bike is the Kona Dew Boston, which is custom made for our shop. It is equipped with disc brakes, 24 gears, and 700c wheels. In times of high demand, we may also use our stock of Giant Escapes. Sizes range from XS (45cm) to XL (61cm). We also have kids bikes from Kona, Giant, and Specialized.
How long do the rentals last?
Rentals last for 24 hours, though you are welcome to return your bike earlier, of course. There is no overnight charge but late rentals will be charged for an extra day.
Can I rent a bike for more than one day?
Sure thing! You can purchase a full-week rental through Zerve, or click the "Contact AdvenTours" link to the left to inquire about longer or shorter term rentals.
Do you offer delivery?
Yes! Please contact us directly by clicking the "Contact AdvenTours" link to the left to arrange a delivery. Please allow AT LEAST 24 hours notice for delivery.
What are the shop hours when I can pick up and return a bike?
APRIL - SEPTEMBER: 9am - 8pm, seven days per week. *** OCTOBER: 9am - 7pm, seven days per week. *** NOVEMBER: 9am - 7pm, seven days per week. *** DECEMBER: 8am - 6pm, six days per week (closed Sundays from December to February).
Are the rentals safe?
Yes. Urban AdvenTours is a fully insured company and you will be provided with a helmet. All bikes and helmets are fully outfitted with reflectors, and lights are available to rent. Be sure to arrive 20 minutes prior to departure time for bike adjustments, to ensure a safe and secure fit. UA staff can also provide advice for safe city riding.
Do I have to purchase a bike rental in advance?
Advance purchase is strongly recommended, as our rental fleet is limited and may sell out during busy times. To maximize your chances of getting the rental you prefer, please buy your tickets well in advance, either online or by phone. Tickets can be purchased through Zerve with a Visa, Mastercard or American Express.
Is there a security deposit?
All participants must provide a credit card at the start of the rental. There will be no charge on the card unless the bike is damaged or not returned. The information will only be used in the case of damage or loss of property.
Am I required to sign a waiver?
Yes. It is a requirement that all individuals participating with Urban AdvenTours agree to sign a waiver. If you are under the age of 18, your parent or legal guardian must sign for you. Our waiver is available on our website, and a link is also provided on your e-ticket.
What if there is rain or inclement weather?
Our bikes are outfitted with fenders and disc brakes, so they will operate normally in most conditions. While it is very uncommon, if we feel that it is unsafe for you to ride, we will contact you as soon as possible to advise and reschedule your rental. We try to be as flexible as possible about rescheduling, but please keep in mind that tickets are nonrefundable. We can, however, convert your tickets to gift certificates so that you may use them later, or give them to a friend.
What happens if a bike is lost or stolen during a tour or rental?
The customer is liable for the bicycle and will be responsible for the full retail cost of the bike rented.
Are children welcome to rent a bike?
If your children know how to ride a bicycle, take them along! Just remember to let us know before purchasing your rental how many child bikes you will need. If you're coming with a toddler or small child, please use the "Contact AdvenTours" link to inquire about towing attachments or child seats.
What kinds of child attachments available for the bikes?
Please contact us directly via the "Contact AdvenTours" link to inquire about attachments. We have child seats (attach to an adult's bike on a rack right behind the adult over the rear; for kids too young to ride a bike), Trail-a-bikes (attach to an adult’s bike on the seat post for children who are big enough to ride a bike, but may not be able to ride a without training wheels confidently or handle the pacing of a tour), and Burley trailers (can carry up to two children and up to 100 pounds, but are not available on public tours). Can I rent a different kind of bike?
Yes, specialty high-end road, fixed gear, mountain and tandem bikes are available for rental through the "Also from AdvenTours" listings to the left.
Are gift certificates available?
Absolutely! There is no better gift for a new student or new resident in the Boston area. It is a great way to help them become more acclimated to the city. Gift certificates are also great birthday, thank you, and anniversary gifts. To purchase a gift certificate please click on the "Gift Certificates: Purchase" link in the box above.
Can I rent bikes for a large group?
Of course. For groups of 10 or more, we suggest using the "Contact AdvenTours" link.
Will I save money by returning my bike early?
No - Rental prices are a flat rate for up to 24 hours.
Are tickets refundable?
Ticket purchases cannot be refunded. If you have to cancel your reservation, we will try to reschedule your event, subject to availability. We can also convert your ticket to a gift certificate so that you can use it in the future or give it to a friend.
What if I get a flat tire during my rental?
If you know how to repair a flat, you may rent a flat tire repair kit (which includes levers, C02, and a tube) for $5. You may also purchase UA Flat Repair Service for $15, and a guide will ride to your location to repair your flat. If you choose not to purchase Repair Service and need assistance, there is a $25 fee.
Can I leave luggage at the shop?
We can store personal articles, bags, or larger luggage during the day for customers on tour or renting bikes. We are not responsible for lost/damaged items. Sorry, but we cannot store anything overnight.
Non-refundable, can be rescheduled with 24 hours notice.
Once purchased, tickets cannot be refunded. You may reschedule your tickets (subject to availability) only if you do so at least 24 hours in advance.
Weather Policy
Activity may be cancelled due to severe weather.
The activity usually runs in light rain and other moderate weather conditions, but the seller may cancel the activity up to an hour before the start time in the event of severe or unsafe weather conditions. If the seller cancels the event, ticket-holders will be allowed to reschedule tickets (subject to availability) or receive credit for a future event.

This fee will be charged to the credit card information you provide at check in.
