Activity Description
See a historic Newport mansion, tour the town center, and stop for lunch along the waterfront on this one-of-a-kind sightseeing tour of Newport!

This is a private tour, consisting of only you and your party. One ticket admits a group of 1-6 guests. The tour lasts either 6 or 8 hours (depending on the type of ticket you buy), including travel time from and back to your hotel or residence if you are staying in downtown Boston.

Both the 6 and 8 hour tour versions include a stop for lunch. The 6-hour Regular tour version allows for a tour of ONE mansion, whereas the 8-hour Extended tour version allows for a tour of TWO of the following mansions:

  • The Breakers Mansion: the oldest mansion, a 70 room Italian Renaissance-style palazzo commissioned in 1893 by Cornelius Vanderbilt II with extensive lawns and a beautiful view of the ocean
  • The Marble House: completed in 1892 at a cost of $11 million was the summer house, or "cottage" for Mr. and Mrs. William K. Vanderbilt
  • The Elms Mansion: built in 1901 and modeled after the mid-18th century French chateau d'Asničres (c.1750) outside Paris is known for its 400 guest house parties
  • The Rosecliff Mansion: completed in 1902, has been the setting for the major motion picture, The Great Gatsby
Following our visit to the mansion(s), we’ll take a tour of the town center, see the Touro Synagogue, the oldest synagogue in America, and St. Mary’s Church, where John F. Kennedy and Jacqueline Bouvier exchanged wedding vows.

We stop for lunch along the Waterfront, and, in season, can take a tour of Newport Harbor or the Historic District, or browse the many specialty boutique shops.

What Is Not Included?
Lunch, which you can purchase at one of the tour stops, is not included in the price of the tour. We recommend you bring approximately $8-16.

The entry fees to the mansions are not included in the price of the tour. Mansion tours cost approximately $11-$16 per person, so please bring extra cash.
