This was our second tour with the company and it was fantastic. Our tour guide Ploy was very informative and shared a lot of her personal experiences with our group that gave some cultural meaning to the items we were tasting. Make sure to arrive with an empty stomach as there were four stops and a decent size portion was included. You will be exposed to different types of cuisine and come away with the confidence to stray away from the usual "americanized" dishes |

I used to live in Chicago in the late 80s and have not been to Chinatown since then. I was a bit intimidated about returning as I did not "know" the restaurants anymore. Our guide, Alia was fabulous. She is a chef in her own right, has lived in lots of different places in the world and was full of information about Chinatown, it's culture, history and food. The food was excellent. I liked the Dim Sum the most. We went to a tea room, a market, went by a Buddhist temple, walked enough to feel able to eat at the next "stop". I had by mother (69yo and three teenagers). Everyone enjoyed the food and tour. I liked learning that the watertaxi stops at Chinatown. Thank you!! I will definitely be doing your other two tours. |

Loved the tour! Amazing food and wonderful tour guide. You don't just eat-- the tour guide really educates you on different areas in China and why they eat they eat type of food there. For instance... northern China is very cold year round.. so they don't eat rice in their diet. Instead they eat noodles. Never knew that one!
DO THE TOUR!!!!! |

After taking the Near North food tour, we couldn't help but book another of the Food Planet tours! Ploy showed us around Chinatown- an area that we might not have explored on our own. She was a wonderful guide and we enjoyed getting to know our food tour-mates. We hope to take the other version of the food tour next time we're in town. |

This was our second Chicago Food Tour and they get better all the time. Our Chinatown guide, Ploy?, was terrific. Her masterful speaking ability makes the difference on food tours. The choices of food and restaurants were specific to the different types of Chinese food. The water taxi back to Michigan Ave was a great choice too! |

The Chicago Food Tour of Chicago's China Town was the best food tour I've ever been on. There was just enough history mixed with food parings and walking to make the entire experience perfect. Learning the authentic ways to quietly grab the attentions of the wait staff along with learning about the history and traditions surrounding the creation of China Town in Chicago was an excellent balance of what a food tour needs. Our guide (Lisa) was a wealth of knowledge and obviously comfortable with all the places we visited as well. Now that I've attended this food tour, I have the confidence to explore Chicago's China Town on any future trips to Chicago - which makes this tour an even better value! - @Dana365 |

Great food with an wide range of taste surprises. Enjoyed the descriptions of where the food would have come from in China and why it was so spicy, bland, or made with certain ingredients. I would have enjoyed more of the history of the old Chinatown and some eateries that had been around for generations. The tour guide was very friendly and had lots of good information to share and kept things moving at a good pace. |

Nice way to feel more comfortable going and eating in china town on our own. Would be interested to have less quantity of any one food and more diversity. |

We had taken the Gold Coast Near North tour a few months ago and loved everything about it. This tour was ok, but it was about an hour too long. Our last tour guide talked about history, etc. along the way to the destinations, which would have been great for this one to do also. But we did LOVE our tour guide, she was awesome. If you could shorten this tour to 2 hours it would be much better. |
