| I have never been very interested in Hip-Hop, but my husband has been brought up on the music, so I booked this for him. What a great excursion this was. We both thouroughly enjoyed it, learning about where it all started from someone who was there at the beginning. This is a MUST DO TRIP. There was a mixture of ages and nationalities and every one all seemed to enjoy it. It also gave us a chance to see a part of Harlem and the Bronx which we may not have ventured into before, being tourists in a different country. All in all it was a great day. | ||||||

| My son is an aspiring hip hop DJ and he has brought this music form to me by our attending concerts and other hip hop related events the past few years. So participating in the Hip Hop Tour in NYC was a "must see" for him and turned out to be one of the best things we did during our visit. The tour was well run and well organized and led by a very gifted tour guide/storyteller/legend of hip hop Grandmaster Caz. Caz brought the story of the history of hip hop to life with his enthusiasm, humor and engaging rapport with the participants. The tour itself brought us to parts of NY that few tourist visit- Harlem, Spanish Harlem, the Bronx, but it was Caz' relaying of the importance of each area to the creation of the hip hop culture that made visiting these sites relevant and enjoyable. Grandmaster Caz emphatically made it known to the group that hip hop is alive on the streets of NYC, and demonstrated that when we made an impromptu stop to watch and cheer on a group of break dancers near Central Park. As we were heading back near the end of the tour, Caz was rapping and had all of us into it- clapping and moving to the beat and his words. We pulled up alongside a city bus and an older woman could not believe what she was seeing and hearing on the tour bus next to her- eventually smiling and waving her approval. Don't hesitate to take part in this unique New York experience. | ||||||

| I had a blast on this tour. It took me around NYC to places that I hadn't been, harlem and the bronx. Grandmaster Caz was an awesome guide, friendly and full of knowledge. We saw a b boy do some dancing for us, the graffiti hall of fame, the place of the first hip hop party, etc. | ||||||

| We met at an easy location close to the empire state building. (only down side was our hotel was in Harlem so we had to travel all the way downtown just to go back.). The tour owner and bus driver were a little late, but no one seemed to mind...the tour was pretty laid back. Grandmaster Caz was great! He was a wealth of information about the hip-hop world and its inception. He was genuienly happy to education us about a cuture and music that some of the people on the tour knew nothing about. We saw the Frank E. Campbell Funeral Home on the upper east side where such people like Biggie Smalls and Luther Vandross had their services. We saw the grafitti hall of fame in Harlem. We saw the Apollo Theatre, the famous Theresa Hotel (where plenty of celebrities have stayed), and "The Carlton" building from "New Jack City." We had lunch at "Mannas Soul Food Buffet and Salad Bar." The food was wonderful and the prices were reasonable (around $13 for 2 people). We also saw the mosque wear Malcolm X worshipped, and we spent some time at Ruckers Park. We drove over to the Bronx and saw the building where THE first hip-hop party was (remember August 11, 1973, if anyone decides to take this tour!) Our tour got a special bonus. While driving in the Bronx, we saw KRS-ONE giving an interview in a parking lot and we were able to meet and talk with him. He was really cool about it, and everyone just felt that was a great way to finish such a fun day. We had to cut one thing out of the tour due to the KRS-ONE detour, but no one cared. Grandmaster Caz performed one of his songs, which was awesome! We returned relatively on time to the same spot they picked us up. The bus was comfortable; a little warm a times, but we were getting off of it so much, you really could tell. All in all it was a great tour. If you like hip-hop music and want to see where it began, this is a great starting point. If you spend the night, I recommend staying in Harlem. I walked around Harlem the rest of the weekend and had an amazing time soaking in more history, and culture, and the great food! Thanks Hushtours! | ||||||

| first of all, you must know that all three in my party loved the idea of this and we were super excited to participate in the tour. there were highlights of the three hour experience (five points, the shop stop) but definitely long periods of time that were very boring for everyone on the bus. our host mikey-d was a nice person... but not "on" for most of the time. he also was drinking throughout the day...on one stop he bought a "tall boy" budweiser and drank out of a paper bag. on another stop he bought another alcoholic bev and drank out of a paper bag. seriously unprofessional. add to that - no one in charge "knew how to work dvd player" so movie was not shown during boring parts of trip. the bottom line is that I wish mikey-d had been "on" more...when he was - he was good. also, the tour is too long. there is not enough material to fill up three hours so most of the time is spent riding around with no narration. drinking during the tour added the unprofessional touch that put it over the top. i'm sorry, but i wouldn't recommend this tour to anyone. also, i'm in public relations in new york - you could have had a big fan!!! | ||||||

Highly recommended even if you dont have an interest in the culture, because when you step off the bus at the end you will do ! Thanks Hush | ||||||

| I highly recomended this tour. A lot of love has been put into this project meaning the lady (Sorry I forget your name) who runs the tour company accompanies the patrons and makes sure that people are enjoying themselves though it is more about the dream than the investment for her. Reggie Reg (tour guide) is an educated man who was part of the pionnering hip hop groups and he is an excellent tour guide who has the knowledge of hip hop New York and loves to share it. It's a lot of fun and it will be one of the most original, enjoyable and heartfelt tours you'll ever do. | ||||||

Merci HusH Tours, merci Harlem! peace from France | ||||||

| As a fan of hip hop this is something that everyone needs to do. Just the fact that you can spend a few hours with a hip hop legend is well worth it. Grand Master Caz was awesome and provided the coolest information ever. The places we went were great and was sort of like a pilgrimage. Even if you think you know everything there is to know about hip hop history, you will be surprised some stuff you don't know AND you actually go to specific spots that you have always read/heard about....goodtimes fo sho! | ||||||

| We really enjoyed the tour. It was nice to hear more detail about the history of Hip Hop and how Harlem contributed to its creation. Raheim was very knowledgeable about the history of the area and the elements of Hip Hop. He made everyone feel comfortable as the tour progressed. Just as a suggestion, it would be nice to have a way for the tour guide to project his voice. We were a group of only 7, but will all the traffice on the streets, it was sometimes difficult to hear his remarks. We would definitely encourage others to participate in the tours, if visiting NYC. Thanks, Kyle, Kim and Dasja | ||||||
