Awesome Experience!!!
Thu, Mar 15, 07   11:00 AM awd1967 Female 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
There were 12 people in our group, ranging in age from 16 to 60. We all agree that the package Hush Tours put together for us made our trip to New York absolutely unforgettable! The “pioneer of hip hop” that led our tour was truly an expert in all aspects of Harlem history, not just those relevant to hip hop. My 40+ year old husband and brother-in-law were rappin’ and dancin’ like they were about to be discovered. No one back home believed that Hush Tours could really “hook us up” with someone famous, but they did. We found ourselves laughing, singing, and truly being amazed the whole time. The thing we loved best about Hush Tours is that they also took the time to put together other customized shopping and sightseeing tours for us. By the time our vacation was over, we knew so much about the city it was like we had been there for months. I highly recommend Hush Tours to anyone who is planning a trip to New York City. I know we’ll look them up when we return… From Houston, Texas: Yvonne (Age 60) Dorothy (Age 59) Lee (Age 42) Ether (Age 42) Angie (Age 40) Johnell (Age 37) Shay (Age 21) Tim (Age 20) Jerne’ (Age 19) K.C. (Age 19) Patrick (Age 18) And the baby of the bunch – Lil Lee (Age 16)

the only thing better about learning hip hop history is being taken on a tour of the people who created it.

I grew up in FL in a town that was almost 50% NYC transplants. My friends were almost entirely Inner City NY B-Boys. At 17 I finally made the journey to "mecca" aka NYC. I was able to see the borroughs that my crew crew up in. Brooklyn, Bronx, and Uptown. After high school I did whatever I could to move to the city. It was a great experience. I grew up as a hip hop head and loved every bit of it. It seemed that after high school however, hip hop became too "Gangster". All the artists would talk about was who had the best cars, gear, and who could shoot the best. Hip hop had become too commercial for it's own good. I started to lose interest. For a long time, all I simply lived in the past playing all my old tracks. The tour was very informative, it was cool to meet Reggie Reg and get first hand knowledge of the origins of hip hop. Reg was passsionate about the culture and was eager to share it with everyone. I would reccomend this tour to all my old school crew. We grew up reading the source and rap pages and we had a lot of knowledge but no one can pull it all together like the crew that was there. thanks! -Peace-

An excellent and entertaining tour

It was such a good day out. Plenty of information about everything hip hop delivered in a fun way. Reggie is really passionate about everything hip hop and this rubs off on the people on the tour. Lots of opportunities to ask questions and chat There are also some fun surprises and I had a briliiant time even though I went on my own as my friends felt it was too 'hip hop' for them. They were wrong even if like Hip Hop but are not that knowledgeable about it you will still have a great time.

The tour was fun and insightful...a little long, but fun nonetheless...Manna's Soul Food was dope, excellent food for sure...I learned a lot about Hip-Hop history, and it was fun listening to some of the first songs ever recorded in the name of Hip-Hop...good job, and I appreciate it. Have more cd's for sale next time, and it'd be a perfect tour! Peace

I highly recomended this tour. A lot of love has been put into this project meaning the lady (Sorry I forget your name) who runs the tour company accompanies the patrons and makes sure that people are enjoying themselves though it is more about the dream than the investment for her. Reggie Reg (tour guide) is an educated man who was part of the pionnering hip hop groups and he is an excellent tour guide who has the knowledge of hip hop New York and loves to share it. It's a lot of fun and it will be one of the most original, enjoyable and heartfelt tours you'll ever do.

Four Hours Flew By!
Sat, Feb 17, 07   11:00 AM dracisk Female 30-39 Domestic Tourist(s) Group of Friends
My friend wanted to book this tour, and I was interested but worried that 4 hours would be too long. I was wrong -- the 4 hours flew by! Our tour guide was Reggie Reg from the Crash Crew, and he was very entertaining and knowledgable. I also loved the interactive nature of the tour. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone remotely interested in hip-hop!

The best way to learn about hip hop history, ever!

I’d recommend the Hush Tour to anyone going to New York for several reasons. First of all it’s a great way to see the city so you can explore the sites further on your own afterwards. Secondly you’re sure to have a great time no matter if you know some of the stuff beforehand, because it’s told in such an entertaining and personal fashion. But mainly you get to see the real sites, hear the real stories and hang out with the actual pioneers. If you go on a tour of Pompeii, you can get a guide that’s knowledgeable and can even make the history seem alive, but you can’t get a guide that’s lived the history. Reggie Reg and Grandmaster Caz were incredible guides and we commend them for their work. Hush Tour is the best tour I’ve ever been on, and the one that I’ve taken the most away from.

Wassup, A review straight outta Amsterdamned! The hush tour was legendary and a lot of fun! A great honour to talk and eat with Caz and Reggie Reg. Inspiring, never forget it and will pass on the Hush Tour message! Big up. Some postive critics to improve the tour: - maybe an extra stop to look at a freestyle battle (beatbox, streetcorner) - some more Hush-tour stuff (shirts, caps) for tourist to buy during tour With love, Ray & Pum

A Great Way to Teach Your Kids Hip Hop History...
Sat, Feb 10, 07   11:00 AM teqnotic Male 40-49 Local Family With Children
A great way to teach your kids about the history of Hip Hop culture. I thought I knew alot about Hip Hop, but I even learned some facts. Grandmaster Caz and Reggie Reg guided this tour through Harlem. These Old School pioneers know their stuff. I'm glad I brought my kids along for the tour, now they know more than whats on TV and the radio. They know about the real Hip Hop culture, sadly something they will not learn in school, not even in the public schools of New York City, in the city where Hip Hop started. It was a fun time spent with tourist from all over the world, with my kids and I. Highly recommend this tour for everyone.

Grandmaster Caz - A Legend
Sat, Feb 3, 07   11:00 AM aearley Male 20-29 International Tourist(s) Group of Friends
Honestly - even if you do not have a mild interest in Hip Hop and are just visiting New York then you NEED to spend 4 hours of your trip on this tour - the history and cultural insight that you learn are what goes towards making New York the place that it is today. Forgot the modern day stereotypes, the tour which was led by Grandmaster Caz (to describe him as knowledgeable is a vast understatement, as he was there at the beginning of hip hop and so I guess he is the knowledge - the spark that created the fire back in the 1970s) tours Harlem, the Bronx and visits key locations that have constituted towards the hip hop "movement". Caz was charismatic and insightful and above all else enthusiastic to be sharing his experience with the group. You even get to sample some delightful Soul Food at lunch (I recommend the Jerk Chicken - spicy). On the coach, Caz's narrative is broken up with samples of groundbreaking records of the early era and various video clips - including one of the man himself with a massive afro and an over the top stage outfit - hilarious! ;-) There is so much more to it and overall I was just privledged to have been a part of the tour. Just make sure you listen carefully to where you can pick up some Sedgewick & Cedar clothing that Caz is now a part of. Book up this tour now!
