A great day!
Sat, Jul 28, 07   11:00 AM ealtaylor Female 30-39 Local Family Without Children
I heard about the tour from a friend who lives in DC and had come to NYC specifically to take her family (w/ children) on the tour recently. My husband and I live in Manhattan and didn't even know about the tour. My husband is really into music and occasionally DJ's for private parties. I got the tickets as a surprise for him and we both loved it. It was fun and really interesting - a great day. Grandmaster Caz was the best guide you could ask for - he's a Hip Hop legend. It was really an insider's tour, and it was well done and professional . The food was great as well. We had a great group of people on the tour from all over the world - all different ages and backgrounds. There was a mother with her teenage son who learned some dance moves from a professional beboyer (breakdancer). One guy from the tour group actually had a dance off with the professional dancer. Grandmaster Caz did some MCing of his own songs and some freestyling too. Then two guys from the group both stood up and did their own freestyle rap. It was the real deal.

We went on this tour with Grandmaster Caz, He's a good guide there was only one negative thing, me and my mother were there on a day that a Large group dancers ( or whatever ) went with us... so when Caz asked who liked his song almost everybody puts there hand in the air.. but ofcourse only the large group gets that song.. thats a lillte pitty .. In general, it was a great tour !!

A Real Walk Through History

This was an experience that I would not only recommend to Hip Hop enthusiast but to anyone that appreciates the history of the USA. Hip Hop is not just a black thing, it’s for everyone. Hip Hop defines a major accomplishment in history and has a place like other great accomplishments. This tour far exceeded my expectations and I have HIGH expectations! Grand Master Cass is the real deal and not only gives you the history behind Hip Hop but makes you proud of him as an individual. I would do this tour again and again. I have already started planning my next trip to NYC for my children to enjoy this wonderful experience. Keep up the fantastic work!

much walking and talking, few sites visited

CWe enjoyed our host, Reggie Reg, who was friendly, funny and knowledgeable. Had trouble hearing what he was saying due to street noise. But aside from the graffitti wall of fame (really unique), we did not see much that was specific to hip hop culture or history. Also some stops listed on the web site -- hip hop clubs, oldest record store in Harlem -- were not visited and the Apollo stop was just a brief step into the lobby. The MSNY stop at the beginning, especially the video, had nothing to do with the tour, really. Better would have been a stop to see a video with some of the hip hop performers mentioned by our host.

Our Hushtour was the highlight of our NYC visit.

First, we were very happy that the Hushtour people found an alternate tour guide on the same day our guide was ill. Our alternate guide was Reggie Reg from the Crash Crew who experienced and knew everything about the early hip hop days and personally knew most of the other people who are the hip hop pioneers (as well as half the people we met on the street!). He was very kind to us, directed comments to all of us, asked us questions about what we already knew, etc. We walked from 106th street up to 125th street with the narrative going non stop about the chronology of hip hop events starting back in the 70's. When the tour was over, Reggie Reg helped us figure out our transportation back and personally escorted us there. My 18 year old daughter was loving it. Lots of opportunities for great pics too. Recommended highly.

Vh1 Hip Hop Honors Week 2007

We had to wait 15 minutes while the bus was set up. Setup with what I don't know since, there was nothing on the bus when we boarded. What the website depicts the tour to be, was actually the last thing it was. The tour guide kept saying how we were driving in his home town, yet couldn't remember what street to exit off of. Pretty sad. I would not recommend this tour to anyone, it was boring, uninformative and poorly planned. Total rip off!!!!!!!

Awesome and recommendable! Taking u back to the roots in the Bronx and Harlem. Sometimes, especially in the end there was a long time of no talking/information on the bus. Could be improved! Peace

Highly recommend this tour

I highly recommend this tour. Having grown up with Hip Hop, albeit on the other side of the world - from the outside looking in, I loved going through Harlem and the Boogie Down Bronx, listening to the stories by the host (in our case Caz) , going thru the elements etc. It was all good and then some.

Four Hours Flew By!
Sat, Feb 17, 07   11:00 AM dracisk Female 30-39 Domestic Tourist(s) Group of Friends
My friend wanted to book this tour, and I was interested but worried that 4 hours would be too long. I was wrong -- the 4 hours flew by! Our tour guide was Reggie Reg from the Crash Crew, and he was very entertaining and knowledgable. I also loved the interactive nature of the tour. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone remotely interested in hip-hop!

I am not into Hip Hop at all. I took this tour with 3 teenagers because they wanted to take it. I came away with a different point of view. I have so much more respect for the original Hip Hop artists!!!!! WOW. I was blown away! Very professional and amazing! Thank you! The best tour I have ever taken

An Awesome Pilgrimage to the home of Hip-Hop

From Arriving in New York on Thursday I had been looking forward to the Saturday for the Hip-Hop tour and it didn't dissappoint. From being a die hard fan of the music and culture this was my highlight. Going back to the birth place of Hip-Hop was only right and with hush tours they know where to take you. With a legend like Kurtis Blow leading the tour and Heading down to the Boogie Down Bronx and seeing where it all started was a real experience. Heading up to Harlem 125th St and Malcolm X Blvd & seeing the 'Real New York' is a must. With Kurtis knowing everyone in Harlem we were able to go into the Appollo Theater and have our photo's taken in the world famous theater. Cheers Kurtis!!. Not forgetting an all you can eat Soul Food Lunch. We also headed down to the world famous Rucker Park. All in all this is a great tour. And not many tour companies would still let you on the tour even though you had accidentally booked for the next week by mistake!!( always double check the date take it from me!!) So if your in New York and love Hip-Hop check this tour out!!! Simon Weir aka DJ Si
