You are not going to get a more authentic tour in New York. Even though I grew up in the second generation of hip-hop it was a great history lesson not only of hip-hop but of New York as well. The tour guide did a great job of giving in depth first person information with regards to hip-hop - I would highly recommend this tour.

Mikey D! Thanks for giving us the REAL QUEENS experience. It was wonderful to see the actual influences and inspiration that Queens has contributed to the Hip Hop Culture. Mikey D, made my friend and I feel like family. You took us back in the day and it was good trip down memory lane! Great Job!

My son and I took this tour after I read about it on line. I'm not a hip hop fan but knew my son listened to it often. We both enjoyed it very much. Me as new to the music and learning to appreciate it's background and importance to it's fans. My son as learning about the history and development of some of his favorite artists. Our tour guide John did a great job and made the walk very interesting. And fun. We agreed that during our next trip to NYC we will take the whole day bus tour and see even more next time.

I am not into Hip Hop at all. I took this tour with 3 teenagers because they wanted to take it. I came away with a different point of view. I have so much more respect for the original Hip Hop artists!!!!! WOW. I was blown away! Very professional and amazing! Thank you! The best tour I have ever taken

Excellent - Great Tour

I work in NYC and booked this tour when my 20-year old son came to visit. My son likes all music genres but is a big fan of hip hop music. He loved the tour - I think it was the high point of his trip to New York. I went along for the ride, but thoroughly enjoyed the venues, history and music. The 4-hour tour went by quickly. Grand Master Caz (Cold Crush Brothers) and Mighty Mike Cee (Fearless Four) were outstanding guides and did a great job with a very diverse tour group. I enthusiastically recommend this tour if you want to learn more about hip hop and the City neighborhoods where the culture arose.

Our guide was knowledgeable and engaging. We learned quite a bit about the origins of hip hop and about Harlem. Problems with the mike as I saw on previous reviews.

Hip Hop tour of Holland

John was terrific. I brought 4 Ca. friends, basically four demanding "president" types. All chiefs, no indians. He sized up the situation very accurately and was able to keep them all happy -- practically an impossiblity. I've known these ladies for 37 years. and this was not an easy task. I, as a musician, loved learning what he said about Hip Hop, something all of us classicists have a hard time understanding. I would very much like to know of a very good tour to hear Gospel singing and some of the the musicians John told me lead your tours. Pls. write me about these.

An excellent addition to the Hip Hop Tour

It has been almost one year since my family and I took the Hip Hop tour of Manhattan, Harlem and the Bronx. The Queens Bridge & Hollis tour is a nice complement for those seeking extra info. I must say that Mikey D. and Mark are very entertaining and you can tell they love their native borough of Queens. They made it as comprehensive as they could, pointing out to us all of the places and events that have shaped the hip hop culture within Queens. Thank you both for an enjoyable afternoon. Respect Your Roots!!!

The tour started with as much energy as it ended. Grandmaster Caz and JDL were outstanding! You truly feel as if your are on a time machine, learning about all of the smaller footnotes of Hip-Hop that the rap industry has left out. You really get to come face to face with the struggle these legends have in trying to maintain the integrity that Hip-Hop began with. This is the only place where you can come to meet, talk to, and interact with a LIVING LEGEND. This is a one of a kind event, to be enjoyed by all cultures, races, ages, and backgrounds. If you love Hip-Hop, and really want a solid perspective on where it acme from, then I would reccomend this tour WITHOUT QUESTION!!!
