This is the best tour I have ever been on; the rise of hip-hop delivered with great social/political context, and lots of fun surprises.

Unique Experience

It was the Pioneers tour taken by Cold Crush Legend Grandmaster Caz, assisted by music master and co tour guide Puerto Rico. Took in many stops in Harlem and a few in the Bronx. Saw site of Herc's first party in Sedgwick Avenue, plus various clubs in Harlem. Take a camera, you see some great graffiti. Only wish is that tour took in the Bronx River Projects too, maybe they can be added?

Great for knowledge and history
Fri, Jul 3  11:00 AM allann90 Male Under 20 International Tourist(s) Individual
Grand Master Caz took my tour and it was extremely entertaining and informational. Being taken around to historical sites in Hiphop was too good to be true - particularly 1520 Sedgwick Avenue. I would have liked a greater focus on bboying, for example visiting Happy Warrior Park (aka Rocksteady Park). Meeting and seeing some old school bboys would have been great too. No freestyle battle or meeting of Kool Herc occurred during my tour on a Thursday. Otherwise, the tour is a great way to complement or begin current knowledge of hiphop and its origins.

This was a totally awesome tour led by a genuine old school hip hoper by the name of DJ Caz (of the Cold Crush Bros). I enjoyed it immensely. You got a real feel for the origins of hip-hop. Get to see parts of N.Y that most tourists don't. Boogie down Bronx and Harlem both.

The tour was excellent. Caz is an amazing tourguide, providing you indepth information on how hiphop got started mixing it with a good dosis of humor. It's a true honor to have been able to hear this all from one of the great pioneers of hiphop. I just got back to the Netherlands (my home country) and this experience left with me with a unique story to tell of my own.

As a fan of hip hop this is something that everyone needs to do. Just the fact that you can spend a few hours with a hip hop legend is well worth it. Grand Master Caz was awesome and provided the coolest information ever. The places we went were great and was sort of like a pilgrimage. Even if you think you know everything there is to know about hip hop history, you will be surprised some stuff you don't know AND you actually go to specific spots that you have always read/heard about....goodtimes fo sho!

Highlight of my trip to New York

Having heard about the Hush Hip Hop Tours I had high expectations but the minute Grandmaster Caz stepped on the bus and we drove around Harlem and the Bronx these expectations were met, if not exceeded! Dope tour with great knowledge and a humble/friendly guide. Wish I was in town long enough to do the Queens Rappers Row tour... next time!!! Peace from Melbourne, Australia

I had a blast on this tour. It took me around NYC to places that I hadn't been, harlem and the bronx. Grandmaster Caz was an awesome guide, friendly and full of knowledge. We saw a b boy do some dancing for us, the graffiti hall of fame, the place of the first hip hop party, etc.

Amazing insight - worth every dollar!

This was definitely a highlight of my week in New York. Our tour guide was Reggie Reg, who knew everything about Harlem, and I learned so much while walking around. I would say it's suitable even for those who don't love hip hop, just to get to know more about the area. And the $10 CD at the end is well worth it - excellent collection of old school tracks.
