We were met by Reggie Reg in Harlem and he gave us a lively insight to Harlem`s music history as well as that of hip hop. His genuine interest in hip hop and music was infectious and my 15 year old daughter and I greatly enjoyed the tour.

If you want to REALLY see New York...
Sat, Jun 23, 07   11:00 AM apowell Male 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
This tour not only provides a good background on the history of hip hop, but also gives you a view of New York City beyond the usual paths taken in Manhattan. Grandmaster Caz was our guide, he's funny and obviously knows what he's talking about. Considering what an uninformative taxi ride would cost for the miles we were taken, what we got to see and experience, this tour is WELL worth the value!

The tour was really well organised and even not being an expert in Hip Hop it gave a good insight on the start of it and its history. In addition it was fantastic to get some impression on the variety of Harlem. We really recommend the tour!

A in depth look at hip-hop beginnings and culture
Sat, May 12, 07   11:00 AM aidfabulous Female 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
My sister (same age), myself, and my nephew (13) took this tour on May 12, 2007. We THOROUGHLY enjoyed it. We travel quite a bit and have taken many tours in many different cities, including other tours in New York. We were impressed with this tour and the Pioneer of our journey -- Grandmaster Caz. He provided musical history accompanied by relevant audio (at the aid of his assistant) through the speakers of the bus. Growing up in that error and in The Bronx gave me and my sister an advantage over the other passengers. We found ourselves playing name that tune in the first 4 seconds of each song played. GM Caz was passionate about hip-hop and making sure our group understood the importance of it, from its early beginnings to current day. My sister and I were born in Harlem and grew up in The Bronx. Telling my nephew about how it was for us growing up was not enough. Before this tour, you could actually see him roll his eyes when a sampled song came on the radio that we already knew, but an upcoming artist decided to rap on top of the old track. Hearing it from GM Caz made it relevant to him and now we finally have the credibility we deserve -- thanks GM Caz. I loved that the bus started in mid-town and went to Harlem and then The Bronx, and back. The stop off for lunch at Manna's was at the appropriate time. The timing of the entire trip was perfect. I would highly recommend it to anyone who has ever questioned the importance of hip-hop in our culture and lives. We will probably do this tour again on another trip to New York and take the Walk this Way tour in hopes of getting a different Pioneering Legend for his/her perspective.

Very informative tour with enthusiastic and knowledgable guide, although we didn't know much about hip-hop, we learnt a great deal. Would have missed out on this area if we hadn't done the tour.

Representing Queens
Sun, Apr 8, 07   12:00 PM teqnotic Male 40-49 Local Couple on a Date
There's alot of Hip Hop history straight out of Queens, and Pioneer rapper Mikey D lived it. I thought I knew alot about Queens Hip Hop History, but I have learned alot more. Visiting the homes of Run DMC, LL Cool J, the Lost Boys and many more. These guys are doing the right thang, by educating visitors from all over about Hip Hop history. Something that is not always taught in schools. I'm glad they are preserving the history by offering these tours.

I am in agreement with most all of the reviews but would like to stress how great this was for my 13, 15 and 20 year old boys. They thought it was "hella tight" and posted their pics on myspace right when we got back. The history was interesting and this is something to do that not everyone has heard about so it makes it even more special. Thanks for a great time!

Went on this tour with my two sons aged 18 and 16 expecting just to go along for the ride. I was pleasantly surprised as Grandmaster Caz tok us all back to the days when hip-hop began. It was quite an education for all of us and I would recomend it highly to anyone with an interest in the roots of hip-hop and the new rap artists!

Awesome Experience!!!

There were 12 people in our group, ranging in age from 16 to 60. We all agree that the package Hush Tours put together for us made our trip to New York absolutely unforgettable! The “pioneer of hip hop” that led our tour was truly an expert in all aspects of Harlem history, not just those relevant to hip hop. My 40+ year old husband and brother-in-law were rappin’ and dancin’ like they were about to be discovered. No one back home believed that Hush Tours could really “hook us up” with someone famous, but they did. We found ourselves laughing, singing, and truly being amazed the whole time. The thing we loved best about Hush Tours is that they also took the time to put together other customized shopping and sightseeing tours for us. By the time our vacation was over, we knew so much about the city it was like we had been there for months. I highly recommend Hush Tours to anyone who is planning a trip to New York City. I know we’ll look them up when we return… From Houston, Texas: Yvonne (Age 60) Dorothy (Age 59) Lee (Age 42) Ether (Age 42) Angie (Age 40) Johnell (Age 37) Shay (Age 21) Tim (Age 20) Jerne’ (Age 19) K.C. (Age 19) Patrick (Age 18) And the baby of the bunch – Lil Lee (Age 16)

A Great Way to Teach Your Kids Hip Hop History...
Sat, Feb 10, 07   11:00 AM teqnotic Male 40-49 Local Family With Children
A great way to teach your kids about the history of Hip Hop culture. I thought I knew alot about Hip Hop, but I even learned some facts. Grandmaster Caz and Reggie Reg guided this tour through Harlem. These Old School pioneers know their stuff. I'm glad I brought my kids along for the tour, now they know more than whats on TV and the radio. They know about the real Hip Hop culture, sadly something they will not learn in school, not even in the public schools of New York City, in the city where Hip Hop started. It was a fun time spent with tourist from all over the world, with my kids and I. Highly recommend this tour for everyone.
