| Even if you think you know everything there is to know about HipHop, you'll still learn from these guys. We were lucky enough to have Grandmaster Caz and Reggie Reg as our guides. We had such a good day stopping off at famous landmarks, learning all you need to know about the roots of Hip Hop and visiting Harlem and the Bronx. Live entertainment too .....the lot in four hours!!! | ||||||

| Worshiping at the Hip Hop Church was a wonderful experience. We were welcomed with open arms and had an opportunity to worship in a new way. This church has a great outreach to their community and their energy is infectious. I come to New York often but had never visited this church before. I am glad that I happened upon this opportunity. I will definitely go back during succeeding trips. Debra and Donovan, our escorts, were gracious and helpful. My daughter and I had a great evening ! | ||||||

| I wish we had more places to visit where we could get out of the bus. I wish we had listened more music and less talk. It is too expensive to be in the bus for nearly three hours and eat at a $4.99 all you can eat buffet. I have eaten soul food all my life, and was disappointed. The host was kind and funny; but patronizing and not very open to dialogue. I am not crazy about tours and was trying to have a positive experience. Had it been less expensive and lasted 2 hours only, I would have enjoyed more. | ||||||

| This is a TOP NOTCH tour! It was very organized, well planned and ON TIME!!!! We were fortunate to have Kurtis Blow and Reggie Reg. They are knowledgeable and passionate about Hip Hop Culture which made the tour truly worthwhile. Although my husband and I experienced the Hip Hop movement first hand, our 11 year old son did not. We feel that it's important for him to learn history and he did. We all enjoyed it!!! The lunch was great, the group was small and overall if you're a fan of Old School this tour is not to be missed!!!!!!! | ||||||

| I had a great time and learned a lot about the beginnings of the rap genre. Best parts: 1. I got to meet Raheim Williams from Grandmaster Flash! 2. We got to get off the bus and walk around the famous sites. 3. We got to take photos on and off the bus. 4. We ate at a fantastic soul food restaurant. 5. We got to see the Apollo Theater (the outside, anyway). 6. We felt safe the entire time. 7. Raheim performed an impromptu rap on the bus! 8. Guests got the chance to perform rap on the bus. 9. Raheim was genuinely friendly and funny! Things I would change: 1. Be able to enter the Apollo and look around. 2. See a break dance performance (I thought we were going to see one because there is a photo of one on the Zerve site). 3. Stress more that the souvenir CD samples songs and doesn't have the whole song. 4. Play more music on the bus. Match the songs to what the guide is discussing. Let the guide talk, then play a whole song, not just 10 seconds. Somehow more rap music should be worked into the presentation. 5. See a DJ demonstration in a gym or rec center (maybe combine it with the break dance). 6. Get a free t-shirt with each ticket purchased. 7. Pimp up the bus with spinning hubcaps, gold chains, etc... | ||||||

| We were 2 adults and 2 teenage boys( 13 and 15) with a limited knowledge of hip hop. It was the perfect activity to please eveyone and took us to places that we never would have visited otherwise. We were very excited to meet Rahim! He was a great guide : informative, entertaining and just a really nice guy. Good lunch. We all loved it - a great day which I would thoroughly recommend. | ||||||

| For someone who loved the Furious Five as a teenager it was a huge thrill to go on a tour hosted by Rahiem. It was really good to see places in Harlem and the Bronx that I would never have gone to independently. | ||||||

| Our family which included parents in their 40's and our three teenagers had been to New York several times and try to do something different each time we visit the city. We are from the Midwest. Found the Hip Hop tour while visiting a New York City website with a link to "Teen Scene in NYC". All of us thoroughly enjoyed the hip hop tour. The history, sightseeing around Harlem, the soul food lunch, the historical stops the tour made and of course our host, Master Caz right on the bus jammin was very cool. Our teenagers did not know what to expect and absolutely loved the tour and the time flew by! To be honest, us parents really didn't know much about the origin of the hip hop movement and it was fascinating and entertaining. Highly recommended for anyone who likes adventures a bit out of the box. | ||||||

| Fun and different tour where I learned alot about Hip Hop culture and shared the experience with my 19 yr. old son. It was interesting to see and hear about other parts of New York since my tourist experiences have been pretty much limited to Manhatten - theatre, dance, restaurants and shopping. Grand Master Caz was charming, engaging and informative. Even the range of diversity of the other tour goers was interesting. I thought the tour was well organized although could maybe be compressed into a little shorter time span, but maybe not considering the miles covered. I would particularly recommend this tour to families with children ages 12 and older since it is more challenging to find activites that both parents and teenagers can enjoy together. Lunch was great! | ||||||

| My teenage son and I took the Hip Hop Walking Tour and enjoyed it very much. We spent almost two hours with our guide, Raheim, checking out many of the sites that have been an important part of Hip Hop music and culture. But the highlight was listening to Raheim talk about Hip Hop in general, as well as his personal music experience. Raheim has been an important contributor to Hip Hop, from his time as a member of Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five to his current gigs at B.B. King's and other clubs. He has influenced musicians from Puff Daddy to Snoop Dogg to Akon, so it was truly an honor to spend time with him and discuss music with him. And if you're really lucky, you may get him to perform for you, as he did for us. | ||||||

| My wife and I took our two teenage sons on the tour when we were on holiday in New York. We had expected to endure the tour rather than enjoy it. The opposite was certainly the case. The day we went it was very very cold. New york was just getting over it's biggest ever single snow fall. The warmth of the greeting we received along with the burning enthusiasm made sure it was all worthwhile. The guides, Rahiem and Red Alert gave us a lot of good information with passion and humour. There was loads of interaction with us. I was personaly struck by the fact that neither of these guys needed to be there. It was not a chore for them. They were obviously keen to impart their love of Hip-Hop and Rap to a wider audience. The highlights for me were the performance on the bus by Rahiem and the meal in the very good restaurant in Harlem. The boys loved it all. There are only two small points I would like to make that might improve things slightly: firstly it may be an idea to forget the hat and bling, give them to the guests to keep, or at least let them know when they are given out that they are only on loan. The other thing is that I'm sure an arrangement could be made to allow the tour guides to get a key for the graffiti wall, particularly as this tour promotes such a positive image of the art. | My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed the hip hop tour. We were greeted warmly and the day proceeded from there. Rafim did two amazing "raps" that made it clear to me that hip hop is clearly poetry to a beat. The group was an interesting mix all fun to be with. We found the tour to be educational and just plain fun. Be prepared that a lot of the places that hip hop originated have changed hands through the years, but we were still given the information to allow us to understand hip hop culture from its origins. We recommend it highly. | ||||||

| We very much enjoyed our tour and found our guide Raheim both interesting and professional. Only one of us on the tour is a hip hopper but my wife and I ,who are 'oldies', felt more of a connection to what the music and lyrics express. Raheim's knowlege of Harlem and hip hop in general is inspiring and infectious. My wife and I probably won't be doing the groupie thing anytime soon at hip hop concerts, but we will recommend anyone interested in bridging the generation and cultural gap to do this tour while enjoying the history of a 'way cool' place! | ||||||
