i have been a Hip Hop fan since the 80's and used to get bootleg tapes in Canada of a lot of the pioneering crews from NYC. I was pretty excited to experience this tour and was hoping to get some interesting insights from the tour leader Grandmaster Caz, being one of the pioneers of Hip Hop from the city. However, the tour for the most part was pretty cheesy and was like a typical tour where they bussed you around to take pictures at different sites in Harlem & the Bronx (like Graffiti Hall of Fame in Spanish Harlem but was inside a school yard and we couldn't go into the yard to view it, Apollo Theatre, Yankee Stadium???, Bronx Walk of Fame). There was also a B-Boy breaking demoat park on the other side of the street from the Graffiti Hall of Fame that was also pretty cheesy.
While on the tour Caz gave a brief history of Hip Hop and what are the pillars of the culture (MC'ing, DJ'ing, Breaking, and Graffiti) but it was not extremely insightful. Stories that Caz had spun were marginally interesting until he talked about his involvement with the song Rapper's Delight which he had a hand in writing but was not given credit and subsequently not financially rewarded for.
Although on the website it says that lunch is not provided they do end up taking you to a soul food restaurant which is buffet style which you pay on your own and is priced by weight. My friend and I decided not to go because we didn't think that was appropriate for them just to take us there. My friend and I decided to take a walk and stumbled onto the famous Sylvia's Soul Food Restaurant and got take out from there instead.
All in all, if you have some background and knowledge in Hip Hop then I'd say you don' t need to go on this tour and save the US$78 on other things NYC has to offer. |

Myself and my wife recently celebrated out first anniversary with a trip to NYC. We were thoroughly entertained, and enjoyed a beautiful afternoon with Grandmaster Caz and the Hush Hip Hop tour. I highly recommend this tour! It was informative, fun, and very educational. Well worth the ticket price, one of the true bargains in NYC. |

Plutot fan de jazz, a cause de mon age, mon petit fils Yann, ado pratiquant le hip hop m'a convaincu de tenter cette experience. Aucun regret! L'equipe du hip hop tour est parfaite. Bonne chance a Grandmaster Caz.... |

A good atmosphere in the bus, GrandMaster Caz presentation of Hip Hop is very humoristic and good. Songs, visit of places which where hip hop was born. I learned a lot and appreciated this movement called Hip Hop. I highly recommend this tour which is very original. |

You won't get see this tour on any traditional NYC hop-on/hop-off bus trips or read it in the standard tour guides - so don't miss out on this unique experience as it's a real one off. Most enjoyable as well as educational - a tour of the 'real' New York with the real people who love and breathe hip hop culture. Highly recommended :) |

The Walk This Way Tour was good, worth the time if you've got an afternoon free (even if you're not into hip hop, if you are, do the long one) |

Really great tour and a highlight to our trip to NYC. Group was very mixed, so don't feel you need to be a young twenty something hip hop enthusiast to enjoy this. It was a birthday present to my fiancée (who loves hip hop) and even it is not my preferred genre of music and my knowledge was limited to the picture media chooses to give you, I had an amazing time. We are already planning to do another one of their trips next time we go to NYC. Highly recommended!! |

This was an awesome tour led by the famous Grandmaster Caz. As he has been a part of hip-hop culture since it began, he was able to give deatiled explanations of all the areas, past and present and was open to any questions too. The music played on the tour bus added an extra hip-hop and fun vibe. Grandmaster Caz has a great sense of humour and kept the group entertained and involved so we felt relaxed and comfortable.
It was a great opportunity to learn about all of the elements as we visited a variety of sites including a basic b-boy (breaking) lesson by a high profile b-boy!
The restaurant we went to for a lunch stop was great food with something for everyone :-) I loved the tour, I learned alot and would definitely go again! |

Interesting and insightful experience into the History of Hip-Hop. Was great to explore different areas of the city and interact with members of the community. Above all, the hosts were engaging and exciting, making the experience all the more credible.
My parents (who initially were reluctant to accompany me) really enjoyed the tour and now claim to be avid hip-hop fans.. much to my surprise.
I will definitely recommend Hush Tours to any of my UK people thinking about visiting New York, and will be repping you guys back in England!!
Hope to see you all again soon! |

Amazing tour and better tour guide. Even with a high knowledge of hip hop, this tour taught me so much. From the death of Disco to Harlem World and back to Big Pun RIP It is just worth spending the day with CAZ. Highly recomended. |
