My boyfriend and I were on holiday from Australia. It was our first time in New York. We both love Hip Hop music and thought the tour would be a lot of fun. Chief 69 met us at our pick up point and he greeted us for the tour. He has a great knowledge of the hip hop culture and was a friendly guy. Raheem was our tour guide and did a great job. He was entertaining. This tour gives you an insight into a Iand often undiscovered side of NYC. Seeing the Bronx and Harlem was brilliant. We bumped into Doug E Fresh at the Apollo which made my boyfriends day!!! If you are looking to do a tour that is a bit out of the norm give this one a go. The team at Hush Tours will not disappoint!!!

Raheem, well-known from Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, is the best tour guide you can get. Full of knowledge, witty and showing his skills on the bus, he takes you to the places where it all began. From the official birth place of hiphop 1540 Sedgwick Avenue to the graffitti wall of fame and the Apollo Theatre. Hush Hiphop Tours is an absolute must-do for everyone with hiphop running through their vains!

Hip Hop lives!!

I loved this tour!! To start with, you're shown some iconic places and landmarks in Hip Hop history, not just by a tour guide but by (on my tour) an absolute hero of my mine..The LEGENDARY Raheim of The Furious Five.... If anyone can give an honest insight to what happened in The Bronx back then, who better? We were shown locations of interest from recent Hip Hop events as well as important venues of the early days like the building on 167th St which once was The Disco Fever, areas where artists like Doug E Fresh live and finishing of with THE most important....1520 Sedgwick Avenue, where it all began with the legendary Kool Herc parties. This tour was an awesome experience for a Hip Hop old-timer like me and Raheim finished off with an impromptu performance of The Message. A really nice dude and the perfect way to end a 4-month trip around the world. GIVE IT UP FOR RAHEIM!!!

I guess I expected to see more "performers". The "show" at the Gafatti Wall of Fame was great. I expected more of that. In fact I had brought tip money.. That's how we encourage the street performers in New Orleans. Stopping out side the funeral home where BIG was eulogized was lame. Stopping out side an apartment building where hip hop was born likewise. Passing off a parking lot that was a skating rink as a historical site? Give me a break. Lunch was great. Guide pretty high energy. Maybe a 6-7 overall.. And I'm not hard to please. In fact, the last Hush Tour got a 10 from me.

Our family went on this tour and we were very pleased. Our guide was funny and informative and we saw parts of New York that we would have never seen. The history and culture of hip hop is amazing and we learned much more than expected. We recommend it to anyone, whether or not you follow hip hop artists, because this tour provides an opportunity to obtain a greater understanding of the depth of this movement.

Outstanding Tour and Experience

Visited NY with my family, including two teenage sons (14 and 16) who love music and Hip-Hop in particular. Saw this tour and decided to give it a shot; very, very glad we did. Met our tour-guide, Hip Hop pionner and un-official Mayor of Harlem JDL, and took off on a two-hour walking tour of everything Hip-Hop. Learned about the music's roots, foundations, leaders and legends. JDL was great and the entire experience was one of the highlights of our trip. Would highly, highly recommend this tour for anyone interested in music, history or New York in general.

Best tour in NYC!!!

My mother and I visited NYC together. We each had things we wanted to do. Mine was this Hip Hop Tour. in short, it was fabulous. Grandmaster Cas was a great tour guide! He new his material and made sure it was hilarious. This tour is also a great way to see the sites outside of Manhattan. The meal at the end of the day was delicious. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to learn about real hip hop and see the side of NYC that you normally do not get to with other tours.
