| My sister and I took our sons, ages 14 and 16. My son is the one who's interested in hip hop, but we all had a great time! Grand Master Cas was an awesome tour guide and had a lot of interesting stories and information about the sites. We got to see parts of New York that we otherwise wouldn't have been to. I would definitely recommend taking in this tour. Oh, and lunch was great, too! | ||||||

| 1. Too long for what it contained. 2. Although we enjoyed the food very much the restaurant did not have enough seating and we ended up eating our food while sitting outside on the ground/sidewalk in front of a boarded up storefront. 3. VERY disappointed that all we saw of the Apollo was a 5 second stop out front. The Apollo was highlighted in the description of the tour so I assumed there would be more emphasis on it. 4. Curious why no mention was made of the band "Queen" as the beat of "Rapper's Delight" is eerily similiar to "Another One Bites the Dust" and the song that Grand Master Caz was singing "We are the champions" is also a Queen song. 5. More actual hip hop music on the tour would be good. 6. The info on Graffiti was great. It is an incredible art form! Would have liked to see more authentic graffiti rather than what seemed like "staged" graffiti outside of the school. (Did those artists get paid?) 7. The tour started off really well with the breakdancing. It got the tourists involved and hyped about what was to come. Could use more tourist involvement thorughout. You need to sustain the interests of the youth ( and their parents) who have short attention spans. 8. The four pillars (legs) of hip hop was a wonderful way to set up the tour but it seemed to not go anywhere. Could you have the tourists try out some authentic equipment at a stop in the Bronx as a hand's on experience of one of the legs? I think the four legs has a lot of potential because everyone can undersatnd the analogy/metaphor, but its potential needs to be explored as an easily accessible construct to which people can apply what they learn, it all just needs to be more explicit. | ||||||

| I guarantee this will be unlike any other tourist activity NYC has to offer. In the 5 day l visited l did a range from Ground Zero to MOMA and while there's a place for everything this definetly adds something different. I'll be recommending it to my friends when they visit. On a negative tip these tours tend to be small groups of 3-5 people. Which is actually great. Infact l would have prefered it if it had been just our group. On a positive tip the main guide, Mickey D, was great. Thanks! | ||||||

| I really enjoyed thsi tour, it was everything I wanted it to be. My husband and I could not stop talking about this. This was something we decided to do for our 1 year anniversary of marriage and we were more than satisfied. A memoriable time. We recommed this to others, especially those who think they know about hip hop, but have no idea of the real thing... | ||||||

| I thought I knew all about the birth of hip hop, but it turns out I knew little to nothing. That's why I loved this tour; it was educational and entertaining. The vibe was laid back and fun. Our group was quite diverse; Japanese tourists, British hip hop fans, and even visitors from Montana. Our guide, Grand Master Kas, was absolutely fantastic. He was knowledgeable, entertaining, funny, and most importantly, he kept it real. I had a friend visiting me from Scotland, who also loved the tour. I would take any of my future out-of-town visitors on this tour, just so that I could go again! It really was that good. Thank you Hush Tours! | ||||||

| This tour was off the hook!! Grandmaster Caz and Rahiem were so engaging and the best tour hosts you could ask for. Their wealth of knowlegde about the beginnings of rap was unbelievable and it was such a privilege to be in the company of 2 founders of the whole hip hop game. Not to mention how cool it was to have a tour takes you thru Harlem and the Bronx to see the real NY and not just your typical Manhattan tourist sites. All the sites we saw were amazing and damn, that soul food lunch, yum yum!!! This tour was the highlight of my trip for real and I would recommend this to anyone visiting NYC. If you don't love and have an appreciation for hip hop now, it's guaranteed you will after this tour!! | ||||||

| This was definitely a highlight of my week in New York. Our tour guide was Reggie Reg, who knew everything about Harlem, and I learned so much while walking around. I would say it's suitable even for those who don't love hip hop, just to get to know more about the area. And the $10 CD at the end is well worth it - excellent collection of old school tracks. | ||||||

| Seriously, if you're into to Hip Hop you have to go on this tour, but even if you're not, you should go anyway and learn loads of cool stuff! We went with friends who're not that into Hip Hop and they loved the tour. Really interesting, even if you know a lot about hip hop, you're garanteed to see or hear something on this tour that you would probably never get to see otherwise. Thanks Grand Master Caz! | ||||||

WOW! I would do it again!

| This tour was fun and I learned a tremendous amount not just about hip hop, but about boroughs that tourists normally don't visit. Gransmaster Caz was our tour guide and not only is he talented at all things hip hop, he's funny and really fun to hang out with throughout the tour! These guys really are the pioneers of hip hop so you get the ground floor story about the beginnings of hip hop. Did you know hip hop started with a party?!??! pretty sweet and you get to see where that party happened! | ||||||

A BIG CHEAT
|
|||||
| Sat, Jun 16, 07 11:00 AM | mberon | Male | 20-29 | International Tourist(s) | Group of Friends | |
| This activity was a big cheat. First, we stopped in a "graffiti mural" at East Harlem, which wasn't as good as the Long Island City one. Second stop was to make some basketball shots at Harlem, too. But the best was after, Grandmaster Caz said: "Let's go to the Bronx", and the Bronx which we saw was the Yankee Stadium title from the bridge, and then, back to Manhattan. I was stupefact, but nobody said nothing. The best thing too was we took a hat and chains around the neck by the staff, but at the end, we must return to them... (The hat was no Kangol, and the chains can be found at Chinatown...) The paradox is that the other excursion with Hush Tours was in the other extreme, was very dope and interesting. | ||||||

A GREAT EXPERIENCE

| This excursion was surprising, and very dope, for me. First, because I can see with my own eyes the Queensbridge projects, original place of rap artists like Nas, Mobb Deep, or Cormega. I could see too Jamaica and South Jamaica, borough of LL Cool J or Onyx, and Hollis, borough of Run DMC. In addition, I was the mural dedicated to Jam Master Jay in Queens. The surprise was too that the driver was: Mickey D, former component of the group Main Source in their second album: "F*** what you think", he remplaced to Large Professor in this album, he put songs very good in the car. The copilot was a man called Mark, or Marcus, I don't know the last name, and he knew many things unknown to the great audience of hip hop. With great gratefulness, Mario Berón Bruna | ||||||
