| We knew nothing about hip hop and as tourists we were advisedto take this tour and we were so glad we did! Grandmaster Caz was funny, intelligent and a fantastic guide! We learnt so much and it was great to visit Harlem and the Bronx too. He's motivated me to learn more about Hip hop and we are telling all our Aussie friends to do this tour as it was the best tour I've ever done! Thank you! Tania and Goran (Australia) | ||||||

| This Hip-hop tour was one of the best guided tours I have ever done. It was really a lot of fun! We have been to the first hip-hop party spot in New York, that was very special ! Grandmaster Caz tought us a lot of stuff and entertained us at the same time. I strongly recommend this tour to everybody even if they are not that much into hiphop. It is as well a great cultural and historical tour. | ||||||

Sad about the cancellations

| I enjoyed this trip however we and other passengers were all very disappointed that the pioneers of hip hop tour was cancelled and we were sent on this. It is, I would assume, a completely different tour, I (we) weren't really interested in hearing about the likes and music of Ja Rule, 50 Cent etc. So it wasn't a really suitable replacement. I guess my negative opinion stems from the fact there was 9 people on our tour and 4 of them had booked for the other tour, so I felt maybe they should have asked us if we'd like to pay more to have this tour cancelled and take the other, or just have a smaller group (I would have!!) It was really meant to be the highlight of my overseas trip so I was pretty depressed about it. Having said that, Mikey D was a great host, we saw a lot of queens, and had a pretty good time. It was better than not going at all :) | ||||||

| Caz was great! We are long time fans of Hip hop from NY and knew much of the info already but still learned a lot and were very entertained. The tour description emphasizes "celebrity guides" so we had anticipated that we would be meeting Kurtis, Rahiem, Reggie or others as well. We loved the sites but wish we could have toured places inside too. The Apollo Theater; for example, was a cool stop but we couldn't see it well from inside the bus. While the lunch was fine, we would have preferred skipping it and having more actual hip hop tour time. The stop killed the momentum and was a distraction from the tour. Overall it was a really interesting tour though that we would reccomend and would definately take another Hush tour. | ||||||

MAKE THIS A MUST IF YOU VISIT NEW YORK

| This tour was one of the highlights of our honeymoon in New York. Our tour guide, grand master Caz with his big personality and his legendary status within the realms of Hip hop made this tour interesting, fun and equally accessible to those with an interest in the music and those with little or no knowledge. The tour takes you through Harlem and the Bronx, both areas that have to be experienced if you want to get a real flavour of the city . Overall, this 4 hour tour is packed with historical information about hip hop with visits to significant sites, guided by a legend who shares his incredible memories and experiences of the birth of the music. It was a true priviledge to be in his company and we left feeling that it was the real deal. We would like to extend a big thanks to Hush tours for providing what has been an excellent experience. | ||||||

| Basically Cas on a soapbox. If you already know what comprises Hip-Hop (style, grafitti, MC, and DJ) you'll be bored the first half of the tour. Make sure you eat breakfast because we didn't eat until 2:30 and the tour started at 11am. Definitely learned a lot about history and culture...great tour for kids and adults alike...I just wish someone had told me 1) this covers the BIRTH of hip-hop through 1981 (not clear on the web site), and 2) it's basically Grandmaster Cas telling his personal journey. It wouldn't have deterred me from going necessarily...I just might have chosen a different tour that featured another era I think. | ||||||

| Despite a thunderstorm in the middle of our tour, our guide valiantly showed us a number of locations with entertaining anecdotes about the early days of hip hop. Now that I read about the history of hip hop, the places come alive in a different way. | ||||||

| The Hip Hop tour is excellent. - really interesting and well thought out. It is a wonderful way to see parts of the city you might not otherwise and learn about a really interesting part of NYC history. Plus, it was great to see my husband doing break dancing moves. Thanks Hush Tours and GM Caz! | ||||||

| My intentions for participating on this tour were to expose my family to everything that I always talked about and to put visuals with stories I'd heard or things I'd read. I didn't actually expect to learn very many new things, but I learned SO much. My mother (in her sixties) enjoyed everything also. Although, she wasn't raised in a community where hip hop was, she understood the stories of the discos and the funk and the jazz that contributed to hip hop. She also learned quite a bit about the culture. Being in North Carolina and only hearing radio rap, the tour opened her eyes to many more aspects of hip hop. My sister also went. She enjoyed everything quite a bit and learned a lot. She absorbed more of the graffiti art/breakdancing elements and on this tour, there was a lot directed towards the two. Grandmaster Caz is a phenomenal person and I would recommend this for anyone. There's so much that everyone can get out of it. | ||||||
