That was time very well spent, actually much better than expected. Inspirationally guided by the one and only Grandmaster Caz and JDL of the Cold Crush Brothers ... Beautiful tour through the Bronx and Haarlem finishing off with a super delicous dinner at Jacob's Restaurant.
Highly recommended. |

...it includes the jazz scene, beautiful brownstone buildings, the luxury apartments where just about every famous black actor has an apartment, Malcolm X's mosque and the list goes on. Plenty of info on the grafitti side of things. JD was a great guide who 's been there and done it (was at Kool Herc's second ever party aged 12 and was in the Cold Crush Bros) - he's a bona fide historian with a great sense of humour and all round top bloke. Very enthusiastically recommended! |

I would highly recommend this tour! The guide was enthusiastic and very informative. He was a hip hop star from the past and boy did he know his stuff and Harlem. In fact, several local people called out his name as we walked through Harlem. Great way to spend a few hours and learn about a culture that is deep in tradition and soul. |

We (a family with two Hip Hop crazy teenagers) had great fun on the tour. It was interesting to hear how and where Hip Hop started. The tour guide was very charismatic, enthusiastic and competent and provided us with a good insight into this important part of contemporary American culture. We will be back for more! |

This tour was THE Highlight of our NYC week. Not only did it educate us on the birthplace of hip hop, both Grandmaster Caz and JC were the hosts with the mosts. For lovers of graffiti, hip hop, breaking and b-boys - this tour is NOT to be missed. |

This was the best tour i have ever been on, by far!! Grandmaster Caz was an unbelieveable guide and was very knowledgeable about hip hop, its roots, history, and everything that goes along with it, as well as making all of us laugh. I recommend this tour to anyone of any age, sex, race, religion, background, anything. I had so much fun and would do the same tour over again (after I do the other ones). No complaints what-so-ever. You will not be disappointed. |

We had a brilliant time on this tour and we got to see parts of New York we probably would never have seen as tourists.
The tour hosts JDL and Caz did a brilliant job, they were very charismatic and their narrative throughout was both entertaining and informative. They do a great job in making the tour as much fun as possible.
I have been a Hip Hop fan since the mid 1980s and really enjoyed seeing the sights and hearing the stories of how the culture began. I have to add though that this tour is not just for lifelong Hip Hop fans, my girlfriend who knows very little about Hip Hop also really enjoyed the tour and found it alot of fun.
Overall throughly recommended, this is unlike any other tour in NYC. |

Brilliant tour. Our guides Grandmaster Kaz and JDL were both very welcoming, charming and funny. Their storytelling was really interesting and we felt privaledged hearing it first hand from these guys who were living and experiencing the Hip Hop scene themselves. It was refreshing and made a change getting out of the tourist trap and seeing a bit of New York with the locals. Dancer B Boy Jayson was really cool and talented showing us his moves too. I would recommend this to anyone of all ages, if i return to NYC i will definately take another Hush tour :) |

For those who know about hip hop already, it may be better to take the big tour, which goes to the Bronx etc. But the Harlem tour remains very interesting. It is a nice way to get introduced to this area of New York, by people who made it what it is today, and know a lot about the neighbourhood. The walking tour is also a more intimate way to discover the neighbourhood (and to meet the guide), somehow nicer than a bus ride. Plus, for any hip hop fan or activist, it is a real thrill to meet the very legends that built this culture. We got the chance to meet JDL from the Cold Crush Brothers! He's a very nice and thorough guide, who made this tour an exquisite moment for us. He took a lot of pictures for us in nice spots of Harlem he knew about.
We recommend this Harlem tour as an original way to discover one of New York's most interesting places! |

I was a reluctant participant on this excursion...it was more for my hubby and child's enjoyment...but I have to say...I had a great time! I really learned a lot and the joy on my husband's face was priceless! :) Thank you G.M. Caz and JDL!!! This white chick learned a few things! LOL |
